- Description: मुद्रित शब्दों की मुख्यधारा के हिन्दी संसार को यह रचनावली ऐसा बहुत कुछ देनेवाली है जिससे हम अभी तक वंचित रहे आए हैं। यह राजनीति, अर्थशास्त्र, इतिहास, समाजशास्त्र के साथ-साथ दर्शन, कला, संस्कृति और धर्म आदि सभी विषयों पर मौलिक, वैकल्पिक और दिशादर्शक चिन्तन-लेखन करनेवाले भारतीय समाजशास्त्री सच्चिदानन्द सिन्हा के समग्र लेखन की प्रस्तुति है जिसका अधिकांश ऐसा है जो पाठकों के सामने पहली बार व्यवस्थित रूप में आ रहा है। व्यापक अध्ययन और उतने ही बड़े फलक पर उनकी राजनीतिक-सामाजिक सक्रियता ने सच्चिदा जी को विचार, विवेचना और अभिव्यक्ति की जो सामर्थ्य दी वह उनके लेखन को भी विशिष्ट बनाती है और उनके जीवन को भी। उनके विचार संघर्षशील जन से उनके सीधे जुड़ाव से परिपक्व हुए, उन्होंने जो लिखा वह अपने समाज, देश और जन-गण की परिस्थितियों में वास्तविक परिवर्तन को लक्ष्य करके लिखा। उनका लेखन न तो शोधवृत्तियों और वजीफों के परिणामस्वरूप हुआ, और न ही किसी अकादेमिक उपलब्धि के लिए, उसकी प्रेरणा इससे कहीं ज्यादा गहरी थी और पढ़नेवाले को वह उतनी ही गहराई में छूती भी है। उन्होंने अनेक विषयों पर लिखा, अनेक रूपों में लिखा, और अलग-अलग मकसद से लिखा। गहन अवधारणात्मक चिन्तन पुस्तकों में आया, समकालीन मुद्दों पर अखबारों-पत्रिकाओं में लिखा, कार्यकर्ता-शिविरों के लिए अलग ढंग से लिखा, और जरूरत महसूस हुई तो बच्चों के लिए गीत भी लिखे। इस रचनावली में यह सब समेटने का प्रयास किया गया है। सच्चिदानन्द रचनावली के इस पहले खंड में कला, संस्कृति, भारतीयता, जीवन तथा कला-बोध से सम्बन्धित उनके लेखन को शामिल किया गया है। इसमें तीन पुस्तकें, कुछ भाषण और कुछ लेख संकलित हैं। कला की बुनियादी समझ बनानेवाली उनकी चर्चित पुस्तक ‘अरूप और आकार’ को भी इसमें संकलित किया गया है। इस खंड की सामग्री कला और समाज की पारस्परिकता, तथा संस्कृति व मनुष्य की अन्तर्निर्भरता के व्यापक परिप्रेक्ष्य में हमें एक समग्र जनसापेक्ष दृष्टि विकसित करने में सहायता देती है।
