A prominent writer in the Konkani language. In addition to publishing seventeen books in Konkani and one book in English, he has also published translations and edited editions. He is also famous as a critic and columnist. His works have been translated into English and other languages. He has received many awards including the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award, the Vimala Pai Vishwakonkani Literary Award, the Ganga Award, and the Goa State Cultural Award.
