- Description: भगतिंसह को यदि मार्क्सवादी ही कहना हो, तो एक स्वयंचेता या स्वातंत्र्यचेता मार्क्सवादी कहा जा सकता है। रूढ़िवादी मार्क्सवादियों की तरह वे हिंसा को क्रान्ति का अनिवार्य घटक या साधन नहीं मानते। वे स्पष्ट शब्दों में कहते हैं—‘क्रान्ति के लिए सशस्त्र संघर्ष अनिवार्य नहीं है और न ही उसमें व्यक्तिगत प्रतिहिंसा के लिए कोई स्थान है। वह बम और पिस्तौल का सम्प्रदाय नहीं है।’ अन्यत्र वे कहते हैं—‘हिंसा तभी न्यायोचित हो सकती है जब किसी विकट आवश्यकता में उसका सहारा लिया जाए। अहिंसा सभी जन-आन्दोलनों का अनिवार्य सिद्धान्त होना चाहिए।’ आज जब भगतसिंह के समय का बोल्शेविक ढंग समाजवाद मुख्यत: जनवादी मान-मूल्यों की निरन्तर अवहेलनाओं के कारण, समता-स्थापन के नाम पर मनुष्य की मूलभूत स्वतंत्रता के दमन के कारण, ढह चुका है, यह याद दिलाना ज़रूरी लगता है कि स्वतंत्रता उनके लिए कितना महत्त्वपूर्ण मूल्य था। स्वतंत्रता को वे प्रत्येक मनुष्य का जन्मसिद्ध अधिकार घोषित करते हैं। क्योंकि वे अराजकतावाद के माध्यम से मार्क्सवाद तक पहुँचे थे, इसलिए स्वतंत्रता के प्रति उनके प्रेम और राजसत्ता के प्रति उनकी घृणा ने उन्हें कहीं भी मार्क्सवादी जड़सूत्रवाद का शिकार नहीं होने दिया।

- Description: काफ़्का की हस्तलिपि में अपने पिता को लिखा उनका यह पत्र कुछ वर्ष पूर्व तक लापता माना जा रहा था और हाल ही के वर्षों में मिला है। पाठक जानते ही हैं कि काफ़्का मृत्यु से पहले अपनी सभी रचनाएँ अपने मित्र मार्क्स ब्रोड के पास इस निर्देश के साथ छोड़ गए थे कि उनकी मृत्यु के बाद उन्हें जला दिया जाए। लेकिन ब्रोड ने ऐसा नहीं किया और एक के बाद एक उन पांडुलिपियों को सम्पादित कर प्रकाशित करवा दिया। इस ऐतिहासिक पत्र के अस्तित्व के बारे में ख़ुद ब्रोड को भी जानकारी नहीं थी। सन् 1953 में जब यह पत्र अपने अपूर्ण रूप में पहली बार प्रकाशित हुआ तो इसके प्राक्कथन में ब्रोड ने लिखा कि काफ़्का ने यह पत्र मूल रूप से टाइपिंग मशीन पर ही टाइप किया था और बाद में हाथ से ग़लतियाँ सुधारी थीं। टाइप किए हुए साढ़े चौवालीस पृष्ठों वाले पत्र में काफ़्का ने बाद में हाथ से लिखे दो पृष्ठ और जोड़े थे—ऐसा ब्रोड का मानना था। काफ़्का बीसवीं सदी के सर्वोत्कृष्ट साहित्यिक प्रतिभाओं में एक थे। जर्मन भाषा के साथ विश्व के साहित्य में उनका महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान है। पिता को लिखा गया यह पत्र काफ़्का के भीतर के व्यक्ति को भी सामने लाता है।
