- Description: भगतिंसह को यदि मार्क्सवादी ही कहना हो, तो एक स्वयंचेता या स्वातंत्र्यचेता मार्क्सवादी कहा जा सकता है। रूढ़िवादी मार्क्सवादियों की तरह वे हिंसा को क्रान्ति का अनिवार्य घटक या साधन नहीं मानते। वे स्पष्ट शब्दों में कहते हैं—‘क्रान्ति के लिए सशस्त्र संघर्ष अनिवार्य नहीं है और न ही उसमें व्यक्तिगत प्रतिहिंसा के लिए कोई स्थान है। वह बम और पिस्तौल का सम्प्रदाय नहीं है।’ अन्यत्र वे कहते हैं—‘हिंसा तभी न्यायोचित हो सकती है जब किसी विकट आवश्यकता में उसका सहारा लिया जाए। अहिंसा सभी जन-आन्दोलनों का अनिवार्य सिद्धान्त होना चाहिए।’ आज जब भगतसिंह के समय का बोल्शेविक ढंग समाजवाद मुख्यत: जनवादी मान-मूल्यों की निरन्तर अवहेलनाओं के कारण, समता-स्थापन के नाम पर मनुष्य की मूलभूत स्वतंत्रता के दमन के कारण, ढह चुका है, यह याद दिलाना ज़रूरी लगता है कि स्वतंत्रता उनके लिए कितना महत्त्वपूर्ण मूल्य था। स्वतंत्रता को वे प्रत्येक मनुष्य का जन्मसिद्ध अधिकार घोषित करते हैं। क्योंकि वे अराजकतावाद के माध्यम से मार्क्सवाद तक पहुँचे थे, इसलिए स्वतंत्रता के प्रति उनके प्रेम और राजसत्ता के प्रति उनकी घृणा ने उन्हें कहीं भी मार्क्सवादी जड़सूत्रवाद का शिकार नहीं होने दिया।

श्रीनरेश मेहता अपनी परम्परा के प्रति ‘आत्मविस्मृत आधुनिकों’ में नहीं, बल्कि उन आधुनिक कवियों में हैं, जो तमाम आयातित विचारों और प्रवृत्तियों के लिए खुले रहते हुए भी उनकी अधीनता स्वीकार नहीं करते। इतना ही नहीं, सतत एक आधुनिक भारतीय कवि की उपस्थिति भी दर्ज कराते हैं। वे निषेध नहीं करते, वरन् अपरिहार्य हो उठे आयातित विचारों और विचारधाराओं के बीचोबीच अपनी ही संस्कारगत प्रज्ञा से नई लपट उठाते हैं, अपने भीतर से विचारों और मूल्यों का सन्धान करते हैं, जो वैकल्पिक या ‘प्रति’ नहीं हैं, स्वयं संकल्प हैं, जिनकी सन्दर्भवत्ता भी है, प्रासंगिकता भी और सनातनता भी।
भाषा के नए प्रयोगों और अन्वेषणों की दृष्टि से श्रीनरेश मेहता का आधुनिक युग में भी कोई सर्जक उल्लंघन नहीं कर सका है। उसका कारण उनका वैदिक, औपनिषदिक, सांस्कृतिक परम्परा में प्रयुक्त भाषा में नवार्थ भरना है; भागवत, वृन्दावन, प्रार्थना, ऋचा, मंत्र, गायत्री, अनुष्टुप, शिवत्व, उपनिषद्, वैष्णवता, उत्सव, यज्ञ, बिल्व–पत्र, यज्ञोपवीत, अश्वत्थ—जैसे पचासों शब्दों और उनके विभिन्न रूपों का सिर्फ़ प्रयोग ही नहीं, इनमें नया अर्थ भरना सर्वथा भाषा का मौलिक अन्वेषण है। इसके अलावा मालवा के लोक–शब्द, बांग्ला–शब्द आदि का भरपूर प्रयोग श्रीनरेश जी की भाषा में मिलता है; और कहना न होगा कि वह सर्जक वास्तव में बहुत बड़ा होता है जो भाषा का सन्धान करता है।
श्रीनरेश मेहता के काव्य में प्रकृति की महत् भूमिका है। प्रकृति से उनका बड़ा घरोपा है। उनके भीतर के तार उससे जुड़े हैं। यहाँ तक कि उनका स्वयं का जीवन प्रकृत रहा—अकृत्रिम, सहज। प्रकृति के अनेक रूप, रंग, बिम्ब, सम्बन्ध श्रीनरेश मेहता के काव्य में आद्यन्त खिले हुए हैं। वह उनके सोच और अभिव्यक्ति की सहयात्री है।
ग्यारह खंडों में प्रकाशित श्रीनरेश मेहता रचनावली का यह पहला खंड है। इस खंड में ‘बनपाखी! सुनो!!’, ‘बोलने दो चीड़ को’, ‘मेरा समर्पित एकान्त’, ‘उत्सवा’, ‘तुम मेरा मौन हो’, ‘अरण्या’, ‘आखिर समुद्र से तात्पर्य!’ शीर्षक काव्य–संकलन शामिल हैं।

रघुवीर सहाय की रचनाएँ आधुनिक समय की धड़कनों का जीवन्त दस्तावेज़ हैं। इसीलिए छह खंडों में प्रकाशित उनकी रचनावली में आज का समय सम्पूर्णता में परिभाषित हुआ है। अपनी अद्वितीय सर्जनशीलता के कारण रघुवीर सहाय ऐसे कालजयी रचनाकारों में हैं जिनकी प्रासंगिकता समय बीतने के साथ बढ़ती ही जाती है।
‘फिर उन्हीं लोगों से’ शीर्षक रचनावली के इस पहले खंड में रघुवीर सहाय की 1946 से 1990 तक की प्रकाशित-अप्रकाशित सम्पूर्ण कविताएँ संकलित हैं। इस खंड में शामिल कविता-संग्रहों के नाम हैं : ‘सीढ़ियों पर धूप में’ (1960), ‘आत्महत्या के विरुद्ध’ (1967), ‘हँसो, हँसो जल्दी हँसो’ (1975 ), ‘लोग भूल गए हैं’ (1982), ‘कुछ पते कुछ चिट्ठियाँ ' (1989) तथा ‘एक समय था’ (1995)। इन संग्रहों के अलावा बाद में मिली कुछ नई अप्रकाशित कविताएँ भी इस खंड में हैं। संग्रह के परिशिष्ट में ‘यह दुनिया बहुत बड़ी है, जीवन लम्बा है', शीर्षक से रघुवीर सहाय की सैकड़ों आरम्भिक कविताएँ संकलित हैं। रघुवीर सहाय ने अपने जीवनकाल में ही अपनी आरम्भिक कविताओं का संग्रह तैयार किया था, लेकिन अब तक यह अप्रकाशित था। कवि के काव्य-विकास को समझने की दृष्टि से यह सामग्री अत्यन्त महत्त्वपूर्ण है। परिशिष्ट में ही रघुवीर सहाय की बरस-दर-बरस ज़िन्दगी का ख़ाक़ा और सैकड़ों वर्षों का उनका वंश-वृक्ष भी दिया गया है। अपने नए कथ्य और शिल्प के कारण रघुवीर सहाय ने हिन्दी कविता को नया रूप दिया है। इस खंड की कविताओं में आप उस नए रूप को आसानी से पहचान सकते हैं।
