नब्बे के ही दशक में जब राजनेताओं के दिन-दहाड़े सरेआम मर्डर होने लगे तो ज़ाहिर है कि नेताओं के मन में ख़ौफ़ बैठ जाना ही था और नई पीढ़ी के वह लोग, जो देश के लिए राजनीति के सहारे कुछ करने की वाक़ई चाह रखते थे, उन्होंने इस राह पर चलने के अपने इरादों पर लगाम लगा दी। राजनीति को अपराधियों, हत्यारों, डकैतों और बलात्कारियों के हाथों में जाने देने का यह यथार्थ बड़ा भयावह था।
