- Description: प्रस्तुत पुस्तक ‘हिन्दी व्याकरण’ में व्याकरण की उपयोगिता और आवश्यकता बतलाई गई है, तथापि यहाँ इतना कहना उचित जान पड़ता है कि किसी भाषा के व्याकरण का निर्माण उसके साहित्य की पूर्ति का कारण होता है और उसकी प्रगति में सहायता देता है। भाषा की सत्ता स्वतंत्र होने पर भी व्याकरण उसका सहायक अनुयायी बनकर उसे समय और स्थान-स्थान पर जो आवश्यक सूचनाएँ देता है, उससे भाषा को लाभ होता है। यह व्याकरण अधिकांश में, अंग्रेज़ी व्याकरण के ढंग पर लिखा गया है। इस प्रणाली के अनुसरण का मुख्य कारण यह है कि हिन्दी में आरम्भ ही से इसी प्रणाली का उपयोग किया गया है और आज तक किसी लेखक ने संस्कृत प्रणाली का कोई पूर्ण आदर्श उपस्थित नहीं किया। वर्तमान प्रणाली के प्रचार का दूसरा कारण यह है कि इसमें स्पष्टता और सरलता विशेष रूप से पाई जाती है और सूत्र तथा भाष्य, दोनों ऐसे मिले रहते हैं कि पूरा व्याकरण, विशद रूप में लिखा जा सकता है। इस पुस्तक में अधिकांश में वही पारिभाषिक शब्द रखे गए हैं, जो हिन्दी में, ‘भाषाभास्कर’ के द्वारा प्रचलित हो गए हैं। यथार्थ में ये सब शब्द संस्कृत व्याकरण के हैं, जिससे और भी कुछ शब्द लिए गए हैं। थोड़े-बहुत आवश्यक पारिभाषिक शब्द मराठी तथा बांग्ला भाषाओं के व्याकरणों से लिए गए हैं और उपर्युक्त शब्दों के अभाव में कुछ शब्दों की रचना लेखक द्वारा स्वयं की गई है।

- Description: यूपीएससी की तैयारी के दौरान हमारे मन में उठने वाले सभी प्रश्नों के उत्तर इस पुस्तक में शामिल हैं। अपने व्यक्तिगत अनुभव के आधार पर मैंने कुछ विषयों और तैयारी के तरीकों पर अपने विचार व्यक्त किए हैं। पुस्तक को अलग-अलग अध्यायों में बांटा गया है, इन अध्यायों में 'यूपीएससी से पहले का समय' से जुड़े कुछ प्रश्न हैं यानि कि जब मैं कोटा और अपने विश्वविद्यालयी जीवन से एक साल का ब्रेक लेने के बाद भी आईआईटी में फेल हो गया था, जहाँ मैं निश्चित नहीं था कि जिंदगी मुझे कहाँ ले जाएगी; यूपीएससी के दौरान यानि जब मैं यूपीएससी की तैयारी कर रहा था और 'यूपीएससी के बाद' जहाँ मसूरी और हैदराबाद की अकादमियों तथा सिविल सेवकों की जिंदगी से संबंधित सामान्य प्रश्नों के उत्तर दिए गए हैं। मैं आरंभ में ही इस बात का खंडन करता हूँ कि यह पुस्तक यूपीएससी पाठ्यक्रम के किसी भी हिस्से को कवर करती है। यह पुस्तक केवल यूपीएससी तथा जीवन के अन्य संघर्षों हेतु आपकी रणनीति तथा तरीकों के बारे में संदेश देने और आपकी सहायता के लिए है। मैं पाठकों को सलाह देना चाहूँगा कि वे इस पुस्तक को केवल “जानकारी पाने के लिए' न पढ़ें बल्कि खाली समय में इस पुस्तक को पढ़ें। जब भी आप संशय में हों, उदास महसूस करें या तैयारी को बीच में ही छोड़ने की सोच रहे हों, तो यह किताब उठाए और पढ़ें। निश्चय ही कठिन समय में यह पुस्तक आपकी पसंदीदा साथी बनेगी। मेरी कुछ गलतियों से आप सीखेंगे, कुछ पलों पर आपको हँसी आएगी, इस पुस्तक को पढ़ते हुए आप स्वयं को एक सफल उम्मीदवार के रूप में देख सकते हैं। इस पुस्तक को शुरू से अंत तक पूरा पढ़ने की कोई बाध्यता नहीं है। मुझे विश्वास है कि आप इसे किसी भी पृष्ठ से पढ़ना शुरू कर सकते हैं। चूँकि पुस्तक में मैंने अपने अनुभवों के बारे में अधिक-से-अधिक बताने की कोशिश की है इसलिए पुस्तक का आकार कुछ बड़ा हो गया है।
