Howrah Bridge A Tale Of Two Hearts by Anup Jetty. This book will come under the romance genre. The reason for me, to choose this book is its title. Though I am a south Indian I am always curious and have some special place in my heart about Kolkata. The main protagonists of this book are Soham and Sayanthika. They were neighbors and best friends, and even love each other since their childhood days. When they both grew up, they get married to each other and also divorced within a year. Though they both love each other madly, why did they get divorced? What has happened in their marriage life? How did they unite? is what the story is about. When I bought this book after reading the blurb I was so much happy to try it but ended up a disappointment. The book is written in the dialogue format, which I absolutely hate especially in the fictional read. The story was simple and good. The description and the essence of Kolkata have been felt in the story predominately. The choice of words and narration was bad, it looks like the words were literally translated from the conversation that we had in the mother tongue. Though the idea of the story was good, the writing and the dialogues were not attractive in the book. Not my cup of tea.
