- Description: प्रकट में तो यह उपन्यास एक हिन्दू लड़के और मुस्लिम लड़की की प्रेम कहानी है, जिसकी छोटे शहर से चलकर बड़े शहर तक की यात्रा रोमांच, रोमांस और इनके बीच जीवन-यथार्थ के अच्छे-बुरे और कड़वे-मीठे अनुभवों से गुज़रती है। अनचाहे, अनजाने ही ऐसी स्थिति बनती है कि नायक, वह हिन्दू लड़का दोस्तों के बीच शाहरुख़ और मुस्लिम लड़की यानी नायिका, काजोल के नाम से पुकारे जाने लगते हैं। यह एक आम घटना है जो अक्सर कहीं भी घटित होती है। प्रेम प्राय: असफलता से नालबद्ध है। अक्सर ऐसे प्रेम की परिणति हताशा की राह चलकर शराबख़ाने से होती हुई ‘देवदासीय मृत्यु’ है। लेकिन इस उपन्यास में प्रेम उस शक्तिपुंज की भाँति अदृश्य रूप से मौजूद है जो एक अर्द्धशिक्षित लड़के को फ़िल्मों जैसी आभासी दुनिया से बाहर लाकर तमाम हताशा, कुंठा और अभावों के बावजूद उसके भीतर के करुण मनुष्य को पूरी मानवीय मार्मिकता के साथ सुरक्षित रखता है। नायक शाहरुख़ प्रेम की उस तरल उपस्थिति के कारण ही अपनी विपरीत परिस्थितियों से प्रतिरोध की शक्ति हासिल करता है। इसी के साथ उपन्यास में उसके वे तमाम दोस्त हैं जो हिन्दू-मुस्लिम होते हुए, और अपनी अशिक्षा के बावजूद, अपनी ज़रूरी मनुष्यता के साथ अपने अबोध मन की मार्मिक सांगिकता लिए मित्रता के लम्बे और अटूट रिश्तों से वचनबद्ध हैं। बाज़ार का क्रूर आगमन और भूमंडलीकरण द्वारा तेज़ी से बदलता समय समाज और रिश्तों को कैसे और कितनी तेज़ी से प्रभावित कर रहा है, इससे वे अनभिज्ञ हैं। यह भी हमारे समय का एक भयावह सच है, जो इस उपन्यास में कथ्यात्मक ज़रूरत के साथ मौजूद है। पाठकों को यह दिलचस्प लगेगा कि इन पात्रों की उपस्थिति और अबोध जिज्ञासाएँ अपनी मासूमियत में एक ऐसा रोचक संसार भी रचती हैं जिसकी जटिलता से वे अनजान हैं। इस उपन्यास में व्यंग्य की एक समानान्तर धारा पात्रों की ‘मौलिक धज’ को प्रकट करने के कारण ज़रूरी थी, लेकिन वह सहज ही रोचक भी लगेगी। बहरहाल उक्त सामाजिक दबावों और विसंगतियों के अतिरिक्त यह उपन्यास प्रेम, अलगाव और नायक की ज़िन्दगी में आए अनचाहे सेक्स अनुभवों को भी रोचक भाषा के साथ प्रस्तुत करता है।

आरंभ म्हणजेच सुरुवात. मग प्रश्न पडतो की सुरुवात कशाची ? तर ही एक सुरुवात आहे - बदलाची! जो बदल आपल्याला आपल्या समाजव्यवस्थेत घडावा वाटतो तो बदल आत्मसात करण्याची. कमी वयातच वैधव्य नशिबी आलेल्या कित्येक स्त्रिया आपल्या आजूबाजूला आहेत. अशा असंख्य स्त्रियांच बेरंग आणि भेसूर आयुष्य, त्यांचा संघर्ष, त्यांची घुसमट या पुस्तकात आहे. अशा कित्येक स्त्रियांना खासकरून खेड्यापाड्यातील स्त्रियांना चार भिंतीच्या आतच त्यांचं अख्ख आयुष्य कुढत, मन मारत काढावं लागतं. या बंदिस्त जीवनशैलीमुळे त्यांच्या इच्छांची, आकांक्षाची आणि स्वप्नांची राखरांगोळी होते. त्यांच्यासाठी जे निकष ठरविले गेलेले असतात, त्यातच त्यांना जगावं लागत. तर असं का ? आणि कधीपर्यंत? कोणत्या चुकीची शिक्षा दिली जाते त्यांना? या आणि अशा कित्येक प्रश्नांचं उत्तर देणारी ही कादंबरी म्हणजे – आरंभ. आरंभ हा लेखिकेचा एक उत्तम प्रयत्न म्हणता येईल, ज्यात या महिलांना काय त्रास सहन करावा लागत आहे आणि त्यासोबतच आपण जगत असलेल्या समाजाचे अगदी अचूक प्रतिनिधित्व आहे. कमी वयात विधवा झालेल्या स्त्रियांचे आयुष्य, आयुष्यात होणारी त्यांची घुसमट, चार भिंतीतील बंदिस्त आयुष्य, त्या विधवा स्त्रियांचा संघर्ष असे अनेक पैलू त्यांनी या आरंभ पुस्तकात मांडलेत. विधवा स्त्रियांचं जीवन, त्यांची होत असलेली घुसमट अतिशय सुंदरतेने दाखवलेलं आहे. ज्यांना खरंच या सर्व गोष्टी बदलाव्यात असं वाटतं, त्या सर्वांनी हे पुस्तक नक्की वाचावे आणि जास्तीत जास्त लोकांपर्यंत पोहचवावे.

For anyone who loses their spouse, it can result into their entire world turning upside down. And as can ve seen in almost all the cases, they not only just lose their partner but also the life that they have known. Hence it becomes not only imperative, but also extremely important that during such times, they have a strong system or group who are there to offer them support as and when they need it. Sadly, we live in a society that has not always been kind to widows, and regardless of how much anyone tries and denies it, these women are always subject to intense judgement and unruly speculations from others. Hence, ‘Aarambh’ by Janhavi Ambulage can therefore be said a great attempt by the author to bring forth the turmoil and plight of what these women have to face, alongwith depicting a picture that is very much the correct representation of the society that we live in. While leaping into the unknown, everyone needs to chart the way through which they want to build their new life and there are many questions that may arise in our mind, and at times, there would also be doubts and second guessing. As such, this book might not have the answers to all the questions, it certainly does have many, and will give us so much to ponder about, making us really sit down and take a moment to think and take action accordingly. Hence I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
