- Description: "निःसंदेह मीडिया की समकालीन दुनिया अनेक विद्रूपताओं से भरी पड़ी है। अखबारों से जुड़े कुछ चेहरे बेशक नायक जैसे नजर आते हैं, मगर उनके पीछे एक खलनायक छिपा रहता है। गिरीश पंकज ने मीडिया जगत् की कुछ दुष्प्रवृत्तियों को बेनकाब करने की सार्थक कोशिश की। गिरीश पिछले तीस सालों से मीडिया से जुड़े हुए हैं। इसके पहले भी वे अखबारी दुनिया पर केंद्रित उपन्यास ‘मिठलबरा की आत्मकथा’ लिख चुके हैं, जिसका तेलुगु एवं ओडिया भाषा में अनुवाद हुआ है। इस व्यंग्य उपन्यास की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता है कि यह कहने पर का व्यंग्य उपन्यास नहीं है। इसमें शुरू से अंत तक व्यंग्य-तत्त्व का निरंतर निर्वाह हुआ है। यह बेहद उल्लेखनीय पक्ष है। इस उपन्यास की भाषा रंजक है, व्यंग्य-स्नात है, बेबाक है, और पाठकों को बाँधकर रखनेवाली है। भाषा कहीं-कहीं कुछ खुली-खुली सी भी है, मगर पूर्णतः मर्यादित। व्यंग्य उपन्यास के रूप में प्रचारित कृतियों में कई बार व्यंग्य खोजना पड़ता है, मगर ‘मीडियाय नमः’ में व्यंग्य कदम-कदम पर पसरा पड़ा है। पूर्ण विश्वास है कि गिरीश का यह नया व्यंग्य उपन्यास बाजारवाद से ग्रस्त समझौतापरस्त मीडिया के स्याह चेहरे को समझने में मददगार साबित होगा। "
