- Description: मैं पहली बार 2014 में नागपुर से लोकसभा सांसद चुना गया। इससे पूर्व मैं महाराष्ट्र विधान परिषद् में 1989 से लगातार 20 वर्ष तक सदस्य रहा हूँ। वर्ष 1995 से 1999 तक मैंने महाराष्ट्र सरकार में लोक निर्माण मंत्री का कार्यभार भी सँभाला। विधायिका और प्रशासन में काम करने का लंबा अवसर मिला। लोकसभा सदस्य के नाते एवं केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग, पोत परिवहन मंत्री के रूप में मैंने संसदीय कार्य में अपना योगदान देने का भरपूर प्रयास किया है। इस अल्पकाल में कई महत्त्वपूर्ण विधेयक मेरे द्वारा संसद् में प्रस्तुत किए गए। कुछ पारित भी हुए हैं। दोनों सदनों में प्रश्नोत्तरकाल में भी मैंने विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलों के सदस्यों द्वारा उठाई गई समस्याओं का समाधान करने का प्रयास किया है। अभी बहुत कुछ करना बाकी है। कुछ महत्त्वपूर्ण विधेयक अभी भी संसद् में विचाराधीन हैं। मुझे विश्वास है कि उन्हें जल्द पारित किया जाएगा, ताकि मेरे मंत्रालयों से संबंधित परियोजनाओं को गति प्रदान की जा सके। यह पुस्तक संसद् में किए गए प्रयासों का एक संकलन है। मैं समझता हूँ कि इस संकलन से मुझे संसदीय कार्यों में और भी महत्त्वपूर्णयोगदान करने की प्रेरणा मिलेगी। इस प्रयास के लिए संपादक एवं प्रकाशक को मेरी शुभेच्छा।
