राष्ट्रवाद क्या है? राष्ट्रवाद से आप क्या समझते हैं? अच्छा राष्ट्रवादी कौन है? अगर आप सरकार की आलोचना करें तो क्या आपको राष्ट्रद्रोही मान लिया जाए? ये कुछ ऐसे प्रश्न हैं जो आजकल की ज़्यादातर बहसों में हावी रहते हैं? लेकिन ये बहसें नई नहीं हैं। आज राष्ट्रवाद के बारे में सबसे ऊपर सुनाई देनेवाली आवाज़ें ज़रूर हमें यह विश्वास दिलाने पर आमादा हैं कि भारतीय राष्ट्रवाद एक संकीर्ण, संकुचित और दूसरे लोगों और संस्कृतियों से भयभीत कोई चीज़ रहा है और आज भी ऐसा ही है, लेकिन भारत के सबसे प्रबुद्ध और सुलझे हुए नेताओं, चिन्तकों, वैज्ञानिकों और लेखकों की समझ इससे बिलकुल अलग है; और ये वो लोग हैं जिन्होंने उन्नीसवीं सदी के आरम्भ से ही इस विषय पर सोचना शुरू कर दिया था।
राष्ट्रवाद जिस रूप में आज हमारे सामने है, उसे वजूद में आए सौ साल से ज़्यादा हो गए हैं। दुनिया के इतिहास में इसकी भूमिका को लेकर अनेक इतिहासकारों, राजनीतिशास्त्रियों और समाजवैज्ञानिकों ने अध्ययन किया है। देखा गया है कि राजनीति के लिए यह सबसे निर्णायक कारकों में से एक रहा है। इसकी आलोचना भी ख़ूब हुई है। यह एक दोधारी तलवार है जो लोगों को जोड़ भी सकती है और राजनीति, संस्कृति, भाषा और धर्म के आधार पर बाँट भी सकती है।
ऐतिहासिक महत्त्व के इस संकलन में इतिहासकार एस. इरफ़ान हबीब उन्नीसवीं सदी के उत्तरार्द्ध से भारत में राष्ट्रवाद के उदय, विकास और इसके विभिन्न रूपों और चरणों की पड़ताल भारत के सबसे महत्त्वपूर्ण चिन्तकों और नेताओं के विचारों के माध्यम से करते हैं। इस संकलन में उन्होंने स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन के प्रमुख नेताओं और चिन्तकों के वे लेख और भाषण-अंश काफ़ी तलाश के बाद एकत्रित किए हैं जो स्पष्ट करते हैं कि आज़ादी के संघर्ष में देश को रास्ता दिखाने वाले और आज़ादी के बाद भी राष्ट्र की दशा-दिशा पर ईमानदार निगाह रखने वाले इन नेताओं की नज़र में राष्ट्रवाद क्या था और वे किस तरह के राष्ट्र और राष्ट्रवाद को फलते-फूलते देखना चाहते थे!
यह किताब हमें बताती है कि आज की परिस्थितियों में हम राष्ट्रवाद को कैसे समझें और कैसे उसे आगे बढ़ायें ताकि एक सर्वसमावेशी, स्वतंत्र और मानवीय राष्ट्र के निर्माण की प्रक्रिया बिना किसी अवरोध के जारी रह सके।

Not withstanding all resistance, Daksh is compelled to give his daughter away to the person he dislikes most, Shiv. Deeply hurt Daksh is now looking for a chance to insult his son in law when he arranges a yagya and doesn't invite them. Sati burns her out there in yog Agni. | have presented this so repeated story from a different angle. The first person narration here has been used for the expansion of philosophy and thought that result in giving a contemporary canvas. | have visualised myself as Sati for exploring the in-depth feelings and emotions of a woman. The use of the montage technique has allowed me to pick up some stories from countless stories of shiv and sati and put them into an imaginative, an unputdownable literary piece.

- Description: नील आर्मस्ट्रांग पहले व्यक्ति थे, जिन्होंने सर्वप्रथम चंद्रमा पर अपना कदम रखा। 5 अगस्त, 1930 को संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के वापाकोनेटा, ओहियो में जनमे आर्मस्ट्रांग की रुचि शुरू से ही चंद्रमा, तारों और अंतरिक्ष में थी, इसलिए उन्होंने इसी को अपने कॅरियर के रूप में अपनाया। कुछ समय नौसेना में काम करने के बाद सन् 1955 में उन्होंने नेशनल एडवाइजरी कमेटी फॉर एयरोनॉटिक्स (एन.ए.सी.ए.) में कार्यारंभ किया। इसी कमेटी का नाम बाद में ‘नासा’ (नेशनल एयरोनॉटिक्स एंड रचेश एडमिनिस्टे्रशन) पड़ा। 16 मार्च, 1966 को जैमिनी-8 अभियान के तहत वे पहले-पहल अंतरिक्ष में गए। इसके बाद अपोलो-2 में बतौर कमांडर वे चंद्रमा की सतह पर उतरे और इतिहास रच दिया। नील ऑर्मस्ट्रांग को सैकड़ों पुरस्कार व सम्मान मिले, लेकिन उनकी अंतरिक्ष जितनी ऊँची पहुँच के आगे वे सब गौण रहे। 82 वर्ष की आयु में 25 अगस्त, 2012 को दिल का दौरा पड़ने से उनका निधन हो गया। एक महान् अंतरिक्षयात्री के साहसपूर्ण, खोजपूर्ण और रोमांचक जीवन की पूरी बानगी है यह पुस्तक।
