- Description: वर्तमान समय में जब प्रतिरोध के सारे दरवाज़े बंद किये जा रहे हैं ऐसे में सतत विरोध की आवाज़ सिर्फ लेखकों के पास ही बची है। कथाकार-संपादक गौरीनाथ के 52 लेखों और टिप्पणियों का संकलन 'समय की ख़राद पर' को पढऩे के बाद यह महसूस होता है कि लेखक की भूमिका रचनात्मकता और विवेक-सम्मत प्रतिरोध के द्वैत से निर्मित होती है। तक़रीबन डेढ़ दशक की भारतीय राजनीति, संस्कृति और समाज के बुनियादी परिवर्तनों को इन टिप्पणियों और लेखों से जाना जा सकता है। ये लेख और टिप्पणियाँ अपने समय की आंतरिक लय को पकडऩे, उनके आरोह-अवरोह को समझने और समकालीन समाज की सांस्कृतिक विस्मृति को एक साथ उजागर करती हैं। इन लेखों का विषय वैविध्य इस बात की तस्दीक करता है कि उदारीकरण ने हर तरह की केन्द्रीयता को नष्ट कर एक विभ्रम की स्थिति निर्मित कर दी है। लेखक इस बात से पूरी तरह वाक़िफ़ है और इसीलिए अपने समय के सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक विघटन को बहुलताओं के कोलाज़ के रूप में प्रस्तुत करता है। इस अर्थ में ये लेख एक नई समग्रता की परिकल्पना प्रस्तुत करते हैं-बहुलताओं का कोलाज़। संस्कृति के उत्तर-आधुनिक रूपों और उपभोक्तावादी मानस पर सबसे अधिक चोट इन लेखों में किया गया है। फ़िल्मों पर लिखे लेखों को अपसंस्कृति की आलोचना के बतौर पढ़ा जा सकता है। चमक और ताक़त के प्रति नकार की चेतना ही कठिन समय में प्रतिरोध का सूक्ष्म विरोध निर्मित करती है। इस आधे अंधे मोड़ पर इन टिप्पणियों को पढऩा बेहद लम्बी यात्रा पर निकले मुसाफ़िर का किसी पेड़ के नीचे दो घड़ी सुस्ताने जैसा है। अपने फेफड़ों में ताज़ा हवा भरने की एक अनिवार्य कोशिश। अगले मोड़ पर ज़हरीली हवाओं का झोंका आने को है, ऐसे में अपने फेफड़े दुरुस्त रखना तभी संभव है जब आप समय की ख़राद पर गुज़रने से गुरेज न करें।
