భారతీయ నవలా రచయితలలో ప్రముఖులైన డా॥ ఎస్.ఎల్. బైరప్పగారు కన్నడ భాషలో రచించిన గొప్ప నవల “పర్వ”. మహాభారత అంశాలను ఆధునిక నవలగా మలిచి, మానవ నైజపు బహుముఖాలను, మనుష్యుల మధ్య సంబంధాల వైవిధ్యాలను వెలికి తెచ్చి, ఒక “మాస్టర్పీస్”గా ఈ నవలను రచించారు. సంభాషణ, వర్ణన, స్వగతమూ, వ్యాఖ్య ఇవన్నీ జోడించి మానవుని మనుగడను క్రొత్త దృక్పథంలో చిత్రించారు.
