Born in March 1942 in Davangere, Karnataka. A multifaceted talent who has made her mark in various fields as a renowned editor, columnist, playwright, film critic, founder of the publishing venture 'Nakuthanthi', and literary critic. She has published more than twenty works, including Manishadha, Elu Natakgalu, Sankula, Nijadhyana and many edited collections.
Dr Vijaya has received many awards, including the Karnataka Sahitya Akademi Award, Masti Award, and the Central Sahitya Akademi Award.
