Born in Ramanthali in Kannur district He writes in Malayalam and Kannada. He has translated more than thirty works directly from Kannada into Malayalam. Among these, Kumaravyasabharatham, Kanakadasa works by Chandrasekhara Kambar, U. R. Ananthamurthy, S. L. Bhairappa and others are notable. He has received many awards, including the Karnataka Sahitya Akademi Award, the Central Sahitya Akademi Award, and the Tejaswini Award.
