- Description: ‘भारत का राष्ट्रीय पुष्प और राज्यों के राज्य पुष्प’ एक अनूठी पुस्तक है। इसका उद्देश्य है पाठकों को अपने पर्यावरण के प्रति सचेत व सहृदय बनानाइस पुस्तक में भारत के राष्ट्रीय पुष्प सहित 22 राज्यों के राज्य पुष्पों का परिचय दिया गया है। शेष राज्यों और सभी केन्द्रशासित प्रदेशों ने अभी तक अपने राज्य पुष्प घोषित नहीं किए हैं। भारत में राष्ट्रीय पुष्प कमल सहित 17 ऐसे फूल हैं, जिन्हें राजकीय सम्मान प्राप्त है। कमल को राष्ट्रीय पुष्प होने के साथ ही ओड़िसा, कर्नाटक, जम्मू-कश्मीर और हरियाणा का राज्य पुष्प होने का भी गौरव प्राप्त है। इसके साथ तीन ऐसे फूल हैं, जिन्हें दो-दो राज्यों ने अपना राज्य पुष्प माना है। ये पुष्प हैं—लेडी स्लिपर आर्किड, ब्रह्मकमल और बुरांश। लेडी स्लिपर आर्किड अरुणाचल प्रदेश और मेघालय का, ब्रह्मकमल उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड का तथा बुरांश नागालैंड और हिमाचल प्रदेश का राज्य पुष्प है। इनमें उत्तर प्रदेश का राज्य पुष्प ब्रह्मकमल एवं उत्तराखंड का राज्य पुष्प ब्रह्मकमल दोनों एक ही फूल हैं। इसी प्रकार नागालैंड का राज्य पुष्प बुरांश तथा हिमाचल प्रदेश का राज्य पुष्प बुरांश दोनों एक ही हैं। किन्तु अरुणाचल प्रदेश का राज्य पुष्प लेडी स्लिपर आर्किड और मेघालय का राज्य पुष्प लेडी स्लिपर आर्किड दोनों अलग-अलग फूल हैं। अरुणाचल प्रदेश के राज्य पुष्प लेडी स्लिपर आर्किड’ का वैज्ञानिक नाम पैफिओपैडिलम फैरिएनम है एवं मेघालय के राज्य पुष्प लेडी स्लिपर आर्किड का वैज्ञानिक नाम पैफिओपैडिलम इन्सिग्ने है। ये दोनों फूल एक ही वंश के हैं, किन्तु दोनों में बहुत-सी असमानताएँ पाई जाती हैं। इस पुस्तक में इन दोनों फूलों का परिचय ‘अरुणाचल प्रदेश और मेघालय का राज्य पुष्प : लेडी स्लिपर आर्किड’ अध्याय के अन्तर्गत दिया गया है। पुस्तक के अन्त में प्रत्येक फूल का हिन्दी नाम, अंग्रेज़ी नाम और वैज्ञानिक नाम दिया गया है। समाजशास्त्री और पर्यावरणविद् डॉ. परशुराम शुक्ल ने इस पुस्तक में पुष्पों के बारे में विस्तार से जानकारियाँ दी हैं। ये रोचक और ज्ञानवर्द्धक हैं। हिन्दी में अपने विषय पर यह अकेली पुस्तक है।
