"कोई भी भाषा महज इसलिए बड़ी नहीं होती कि उसके बोलनेवालों की संख्या अधिक है, बल्कि वह इसलिए बड़ी होती है कि करोड़-करोड़ जनता के हृदय और मस्तिष्क की भूख मिटाने का वह प्रभावशाली साधन होती है। भारत में हिंदी भाषा की वही स्थिति है। हिंदी साहित्य का भंडार विस्तृत है। गद्य-पद्य, दोनों में विपुल साहित्य की रचना हुई है। किसी भी साहित्य का उसके सम्यक् रूप में पारायण कर पाना बड़ा कठिन है। आज के व्यस्त समय में पाठक के पास न तो इतना समय है और न धैर्य। अतः हिंदी साहित्य के सार रूप को प्रश्नोत्तर शैली के एक हजार प्रश्नों के अंदर समोने की कोशिश की गई है। हालाँकि इतनी बड़ी विषय-वस्तु को मात्र हजार प्रश्नों में बाँध पाना अत्यंत दुष्कर कार्य रहा। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक में हिंदी साहित्य के कलेवर को विभिन्न अध्यायों में बाँटकर विवेचित किया गया है, यथा—हिंदी साहित्य का इतिहास, काव्य शास्त्र, भाषा एवं व्याकरण, साहित्यिक विधाओं के साथ-साथ विविध अध्याय में मिश्रित प्रश्‍नों को समेटा गया है। पुस्तक के अंत में पाठकोपयोगी हिंदी साहित्येतिहास प्रश्‍नोत्तर को शामिल किया गया है। विद्यार्थी, शिक्षार्थी, प्रतियोगी परीक्षार्थी, शोधार्थी, अध्यापक ही नहीं, सामान्य हिंदी-प्रेमी पाठकों के लिए एक अत्यंत उपयोगी पुस्तक।

रेखा कास्तवार  ने इस पुस्तक में स्त्री को केन्द्र में रखकर लिखी गई महिला और पुरुष रचनाकारों के उपन्यासों का तुलनात्मक अध्ययन किया है और इस क्रम में वे स्त्री चिन्तन से सम्बन्धित कुछ ऐसी चुनौतियों से रू-ब-रू हुई हैं, जिन्हें अध्ययन की इस पद्धति से ही समझा जा सकता है। लेखिका ने स्त्री से जुड़े कुछ मूलभूत सवालों को उठाया है और उसके आलोक में पुरुष तथा महिला लेखकों के नज़रिए के फ़र्क़ को रेखांकित किया है। गहरे विवेचन और विश्लेषण के बाद ही वह इस निष्कर्ष तक पहुँचती हैं—स्त्री-विमर्श का प्रमुख सरोकार स्त्री का अपने पक्ष में ख़ुद लड़ना और ख़ुद खड़े होना रहा है, जब तक यह लड़ाई अपनी ओर से नहीं लड़ी जाएगी, स्त्री के पक्ष में नहीं जाएगी। ‘स्त्री-चिन्तन की चुनौतियाँ’ निश्चित रूप से हिन्दी के स्त्री-विमर्श में कतिपय अवधारणात्मक परिवर्तन लाने में सफल होगी।

Over 33 million strong Indian diasporas spread all over the world has been an exceptionally successful story. Indian diaspora has performed well on all important parameters — political, economical, technological and cultural. Antar Rashtrya Sahyog Parishad (ARSP) had organised year-long activities to mark this important landmark in the life of the Indian diaspora, culminating with an international conference on the topic, ‘Contribution of Diaspora in Nation Building’ in Mauritius in July 2018.
