‘स्त्री : अधिकार और क़ानून’ तसलीमा नसरीन के आलेखों और टिप्पणियों का संकलन है। उनकी बहस मानवीय स्वतंत्रता के पक्षधर ऐसे तर्कों के आधार पर होती है, जिन्हें खुली सोच वाला कोई भी न्यायप्रिय व्यक्ति स्वीकार करेगा। लेकिन धार्मिक, पारम्परिक और शक्तिकामी दुराग्रहों में उलझे लोगों को वे स्वीकार्य नहीं लगते। उनके कहने का ढंग और उनकी भाषा भी कई लोगों को आपत्तिजनक लगती है।
इस संकलन के आलेखों में तसलीमा नसरीन ने तीन तलाक, घरेलू हिंसा, विवाह, समलैंगिकता, बांग्लादेश में हिन्दू स्त्रियों की स्थिति, बहुविवाह, महिला दिवस, स्त्री-देह, परिवार और अन्य कई विषयों पर विचार किया है—कहीं संस्मरणात्मक पृष्ठभूमि में और कहीं घटनाओं के बहाने से।
उनका कहना है कि अत्याचार के शिकार मनुष्यों में स्त्रियाँ ही एकमात्र ऐसा समूह हैं, जो अत्यन्त घनिष्ठ रूप में अपने अत्याचारियों के साथ वास करता है। पश्चिम की स्त्रियों ने अपने लिए एक घर का इन्तज़ाम कर लिया है, तो समाज उन्हें अब कोई डर नहीं दिखाता, लेकिन भारतवर्ष की स्त्रियों को समाज लाल सुर्ख़ आँखों से ऐसे घूर रहा है कि वे डर के मारे दुबकी हुई हैं।
समलैंगिकता के विषय में उनका कहना है कि जो लोग इस समुदाय की सामाजिक स्वीकृति का समर्थन नहीं करते, उनके अधिकारों के पक्ष में खड़े नहीं होते, उन्हें मानवाधिकारों का पक्षधर भी नहीं कहा जा सकता, और न ही प्रगतिशील। वे ज़ोर देकर कहती हैं कि समकामी या समलैंगिक होना सिर्फ़ यौन-सम्बन्धों का मसला नहीं है, यह प्रेम का सम्बन्ध है।
स्त्रियों से जुड़े कई अन्य सामाजिक और क़ानूनी पहलुओं पर उन्होंने इसी तरह दो टूक विचार किया है।

- Description: "स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के क्रांतिदूत नेताजी सुभाषचंद्र बोस का जन्म 23 जनवरी, 1897 को उड़ीसा के कटक शहर में हुआ था। बचपन से ही सुभाष पढ़ाई में बडे़ कुशाग्र बुद्धि के थे। इंग्लैंड से पढ़ाई करके लौटने पर सुभाष कलकत्ता के प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानी देशबंधु चित्तरंजन दास के साथ काम करना चाहते थे। उन दिनों गांधीजी ने अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ असहयोग आंदोलन छेड़ रखा था। उनके साथ सुभाष बाबू उस आंदोलन में सहभागी हो गए और जल्द ही देश के एक महत्त्वपूर्ण युवा नेता बन गए। सन् 1928 में जब साइमन कमीशन भारत आया तो कलकत्ता में सुभाष बाबू ने इस आंदोलन का नेतृत्व किया। सुभाष बाबू गांधीजी और कांग्रेस के तौर-तरीकों से असहमत थे। गांधीजी के विरोध के बावजूद वे कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष चुने गए, पर कार्यकारिणी का सहयोग न मिलने पर उन्होंने त्याग-पत्र दे दिया। नजरबंदी में ब्रिटिश सरकार की आँखों में धूल झोंककर वे जापान पहुँचे और आजाद हिंद फौज की स्थापना की। उन्होंने नारा दिया—‘तुम मुझे खून दो, मैं तुम्हें आजादी दूँगा।’ उन्होंने भारत की आजादी के लिए सशस्त्र संघर्ष किया। सुभाष की राष्ट्रभक्ति बेमिसाल है। उनकी मृत्यु के बारे में अभी तक रहस्य बना हुआ है। कहा जाता है कि 23 अगस्त, 1945 को उनका विमान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया था। राष्ट्रनायक सुभाष बाबू आज भी अदम्य प्रेरणा के स्रोत हैं।
