S. Ramakrishnan
S. Ramakrishnan is a prominent figure in contemporary Tamil literature. Born in 1966 in Mallankinaru village in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, he has been prolific for over thirty years, producing short stories, novels, essays, plays, screenplays, children's literature, historical works, interviews, and translations. His publications include 10 novels, 20 short story collections, 37 essays, 15 children's books, 3 translations, and 5 plays. In cinema literature, he authored *Ulaga Cinema* (World Cinema). Ramakrishnan has received numerous awards such as the 'Tagore Literary Award,' Canada's 'Ayal Award' (a Lifetime Achievement Award), the 'Maxim Gorky Award,' the 'Sangeet Natak Akademi Award,' the 'Tamil Nadu Government Award,' the 'Kannadasan Literary Award,' and the 'Periyar Award,' among others.
