Jillella Balaji
Jillella Balaji, born in 1961 in Srikalahasti, completed his education up to a degree in Chittoor. He has been writing since 1983, with 153 of his short stories published in various magazines. He has received awards for 19 stories through different literary competitions and has published six short story collections. His collection *Sikkentika* earned the Gurajada Story Award (Kadapa) and the Kuppam Reddemma Literary Award. He has also received honors like the Telugu Language Development Award, the *Gurudevo Bhava* Award, and the Ugadi Distinguished Award. Additionally, he has translated over 125 Tamil short stories into Telugu and 13 novels, including Jayakanthan's "Kalyani", "Oka Manishi... Oka Illu... Oka Prapancham..." (A Man... A House... A World...), "Ganga Ekkadiki Velutundi?" (Where is the Ganges Going?), and "Parisku Po!" (Go to Paris!), along with two novellas, S. Ramakrishnan's "Yamam", and the late Kalki's "Alala Savvadi" (The Sound of Waves). His translation of the novel "Kalyani" earned him the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Translation Award and the Best Translation Award from "Dishai Ettum" magazine.
