Ali Iman Naqvi
Ali Imam Naqvi is regarded as an important, serious, and significant short story writer of the modern era. He was born on 9 November 1945 in Mumbai. His father, Ameer Haider, was a prosperous and well-established businessman.After completing his education up to matriculation, Ali Imam Naqvi joined his father’s business. However, he soon left it and became a permanent employee as a clerk at the Iranian Consulate in Mumbai.Ali Imam Naqvi began writing around 1970. His first short story, Khulte Hue Bal, earned him a distinct identity in the literary world. His first collection of stories, Naye Makaan Ki Deemak, was published in 1980.This was followed by four more short story collections published in sequence: Mubahila (1988), Ghatte Badhte Saaye (1993), Mausam Azaabon Ka (1998), and Kahi Ankahi (2012).
