- Description: रामकथा में लक्ष्मणजी का चरित्र सबसे विचित्र, सबसे अनुपम और सबसे भिन्न है। वे केवल श्रीराम के अनुज ही नहीं, बल्कि उनके सहचर और अनुचर भी हैं, प्राण और अंतरात्मा भी हैं, सुहृद् और भक्त भी हैं तथा दर्पण और प्रतिबिंब भी हैं। वास्तव में वे उनके सर्वस्व हैं। दोनों का जीवन प्रेम और विश्वास के अटूट सूत्र से बँधा हुआ है, जहाँ किसी प्रकार के दुराव, छिपाव और अलगाव की कोई गुंजाइश नहीं। विश्व इतिहास में ऐसा चरित्र मिलना दुर्लभ है, जिसने अपने अग्रज की सेवा में अपने अस्तित्व का पूर्णतया विसर्जन कर दिया हो और उसी में अपने जीवन की धन्यता और सार्थकता पाई हो। लक्ष्मण महापराक्रमी, श्रेष्ठ योद्धा, बुद्धिमान्, धर्मज्ञ, नीतिज्ञ, शास्त्रज्ञ, वाक्-निपुण, दूरदर्शी, सेवाव्रती, आत्मवान्, जितेंद्रिय, परम संयमी, वैराग्यवान् और सदाचारी होने के साथ-ही-साथ अनेक कलाओं में भी निपुण थे। त्याग, सेवा और समर्पण के वे मूर्तिमान् स्वरूप थे। यह पुस्तक मुख्य रूप से रामचरितमानस पर आधारित है, परंतु आवश्यकतानुसार वाल्मीकि रामायण से भी सहायता ली गई है। महर्षि वाल्मीकि ने लक्ष्मणजी के कुछ गुणों, जैसे—सेवा, पर्णकुटी बनाने की दक्षता, पुरुषार्थ के प्रति निष्ठा, सीताजी के वियोग में संतप्त श्रीराम का मनोबल बढ़ाने की कला आदि का बहुत ही सजीव वर्णन किया है। लक्ष्मणजी की यशोगाथा को सत्रह अध्यायों में विभाजित किया गया है। हर अध्याय का नाम चौपाई विशेष की अर्द्धाली के आधार पर रखा गया है और अध्यायों का क्रम रामचरितमानस में आई चौपाइयों के क्रमानुसार सुनिश्चित किया गया है।

- Description: महाभारत केवल रत्नों की ही खान नहीं है, असंख्य प्रश्नों की भी खान है। इस महाग्रंथ की कई घटनाएँ और कई कथानक सामान्य पाठक को ही नहीं, अध्ययनशील सुधीजनों को भी ‘यह ऐसा क्यों’ जैसे प्रश्न के साथ उलझा देते हैं। ऐसे अनेक प्रश्न/जिज्ञासाएँ चुनकर इस पुस्तक में संकलित की गई हैं और यथासंभव शुद्ध मन-भावना के साथ उनके निदान/ समाधान का प्रयास किया गया है। इस चर्चा का प्रधान केंद्र वर्तमान संदर्भ रहा है, यह इस ग्रंथ की विशेषता है। वैसे तो महाभारत की अन्य वैश्विक धर्मग्रंथों के साथ तुलना नहीं कर सकते, क्योंकि महाभारत किसी विशेष धर्म का ग्रंथ नहीं है। महाभारत मानव व्यवहार का शाश्वत ग्रंथ है और सच कहा जाए तो विश्व के सभी धर्मों का निचोड़ है। धर्मसंकट का व्यावहारिक हल सुझाते हुए श्रीकृष्ण कहते हैं, ‘‘हे अर्जुन, धर्म और सत्य का पालन उत्तम है, किंतु इस तत्त्व के आचरण का यथार्थ स्वरूप जानना अत्यंत कठिन है।’’ सत्य-असत्य, धर्म-अधर्म, जीवन-मृत्यु, पाप-पुण्य, इत्यादि द्वंद्वों को कथानकों और घटनाओं के माध्यम से इस ग्रंथ में निर्दिष्ट किया गया है। महाभारत के वैशिष्ट्य और वर्तमान परिप्रेक्ष्य में उसकी प्रासंगिकता तथा व्यावहारिकता पर प्रकाश डालती पठनीय पुस्तक।
