- Description: ‘आनन्द-वर्षा’ एक रहस्यवादी के निर्माण और आध्यात्मिक पथ पर उसके आश्चर्यजनक अनुभवों की कथा है। यह दो ऐसे पुरुषों की कहानी भी है जिनका चरित्र एक-दूसरे से बिलकुल अलग है, लेकिन एक निर्णायक मुलाक़ात के बाद जिनके बीच एक दुर्लभ सम्बन्ध विकसित होता है। बुजुर्ग मध्वाचार्य जो सम्पूर्ण समर्पण और निर्द्वन्द्व भक्ति-भाव में डूबा है, युवा गोपाल का गुरु बनता है, जबकि गोपाल का विकास पश्चिमी तर्कवाद और इस विश्वास के साथ हुआ है कि मनुष्य अपने भाग्य का निर्माता ख़ुद है। गुरु अपने शिष्य का परिचय आत्मा से कराता है और इस प्रकार उसके भीतर एक निहायत ही निजी युद्ध की शुरुआत कर देता है—युद्ध जो भावना और विवेक तथा विश्वास और तर्क के बीच चलता है। इस उपन्यास के विषय में ‘डकन हेराल्ड’ का मत है : “(यह कथा) कई स्तरों पर चलती है। इसमें अनेक रहस्य और व्याख्याएँ निहित हैं जो विचारोत्तेजक हैं, हमारे सामने कई उद्घाटन करती हैं और अन्ततः बहुत मानवीय हैं। यह हमें दैवीय के प्रति मनुष्य की चाह का सन्देश देती है। दैवीय जो मनुष्य में ही निहित है।’’ अंग्रेज़ी के प्रख्यात लेखक खुशवंत सिंह के अनुसार यह ‘अत्यन्त पठनीय’ पुस्तक है जिस पर ‘सभी गम्भीरचेता लोगों को ध्यान देना चाहिए।’

- Description: अब तक सिद्धों-नाथों और संतों के बीच दार्शनिक सम्बन्ध ही अधिक खोजा गया है। परन्तु इस पुस्तक में मैंने दार्शनिक पक्ष के साथ-साथ उनके सामाजिक पक्ष को भी अंत:सम्बद्धता में देखा है। सिद्धों-नाथों और संतों के बीच अनेक समान्तर अंत सूत्र होने के बावजूद उनके दर्शन और विचार, उनकी भाषा और उनके सामाजिक सरोकार में अंतर देखने को मिलता है। यह भेद और उनके बीच की समानता को इस पुस्तक में कथ्य, संवेदना,रूप आदि के अलग-अलग स्तरों पर देखा गया। इस पुस्तक को प्रकाशित कराने का मेरा विचार 'प्रति संस्कृति' के निर्माण में सिद्धों, नाथों एवं संतों के योगदान को देखकर हुआ। अपने समय में प्रचलित मान्यताओं से इन्होंने अलग राह ली। परन्तु उसमें से कुछ समय से आगे और कुछ समय के दबाव और बहाव में ही गति करती रहीं। तीनों सम्प्रदाय के कवियों ने समाज में व्याप्त अनेक बाह्य आडम्बरों पर प्रहार किया, उनसे प्रति प्रश्न किया। परन्तु स्त्री के प्रति प्रचलित नजरिये को सिर्फ सिद्ध कवि ही तोड़ पाए। आडम्बरों पर तीनों सम्प्रदाय के कवि मुखर हैं परन्तु नाथों एवं संतों ने स्त्री को 'पितृसत्तात्मक' समाज में घुटने के लिए छोड़ ही नहीं दिया बल्कि अपनी राह भी अलग कर लीं।
