- Description: स्वतंत्रता के पश्चात् भारत के इतिहास में अनेक महान् विभूतियों को मात्र इस कारण भुला दिया गया, क्योंकि वे नेहरूवादी राजनीति का हिस्सा नहीं थीं अथवा उन्होंने साम्यवाद और समाजवाद के मॉडल को भारतीयता के अनुकूल नहीं पाया था। इन महापुरुषों को भारत के समृद्ध इतिहास पर गर्व था। वे जीवनपर्यंत उसकी गौरवशाली प्रतिष्ठा को पुनर्स्थापित करने के प्रयत्न करते रहे। भारत की अंता उनके लिए सर्वोपरि थी और इसे स्थायी रखने के लिए उन्होंने अपना जीवन समर्पित कर दिया। इन्हीं में से डॉ. श्यामाप्रसाद मुखर्जी बीसवीं शताब्दी के अभूतपूर्व राजनीतिज्ञ थे। ‘एकीकृत भारत का संकल्प’ 1946-1953 तक जम्मू-कश्मीर के संदर्भ में उठे प्रश्नों का संपूर्ण समाधान है। इसके प्रत्युत्तर में तत्कालीन सरकार ने डॉ. मुखर्जी को सांप्रदायिक और फासीवाद घोषित कर दिया, क्योंकि इस राज्य के लिए अपनाई गई नीतियों के वे समर्थक नहीं थे। ये नीतियाँ वास्तव में कभी भारत के हित में नहीं थीं। हालाँकि, डॉ. मुखर्जी का कहना था कि संपूर्ण भारत में समान संविधान, एक ध्वज, एक प्रधानमंत्री और एक राष्ट्रपति होना चाहिए। यह पुस्तक केंद्र की नेहरू सरकार और राज्य की अब्दुल्ला सरकार की विफलताओं को सामने लाती है, जिन्होंने राज्य में गतिरोध पैदा किया। साथ ही यह डॉ. मुखर्जी के तर्कों पर गहन और निष्पक्ष अध्ययन प्रस्तुत करती है। भारत माँ के अमर सपूत डॉ. श्यामाप्रसाद मुखर्जी के संघर्ष, शौर्य और ‘एकात्म भारत’ के उनके संकल्प को रेखांकित करती पठनीय पुस्तक।.
