V.R. Ganapathi hails from a family with roots in Palakkad, Kerala. He was born in Karimnagar district in 1954. After retiring as a Senior Manager at Andhra Bank in 2011, he settled in Karimnagar. He is proficient in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and English. For fifty years, he has been writing short stories, poetry, and literary essays. His works have appeared in numerous magazines. A dozen stories he translated into Telugu from Tamil and Malayalam have appeared in prominent periodicals. He has won awards in various state and national-level poetry competitions.
