Eminent Nepali litterateur Salon Karthak of Bombusty, Kalimpong is set to receive the prestigious Sahitya Akademi award for his book 'Biswa Euta Pallo Gaon' in the national capital next month. The 73-year-old was born in Rimbick at Darjeeling on December 29, 1947 and has been living in Kalimpong. He started writing in the mid 70s with about 20 of his books published till now which include mostly travelogues and also short stories, biographies and books on Christianity. Salon said literary figures like Lain Singh Bangdel, Raj Narayan Pradhan, Indra Bahadur Rai, M.N. Gurung along with writer Kushwant Singh among many others has inspired him in his writings.
