Jayanti Naik, born on August 6th, 1962 in Amona, Quepem taluka of Goa, is a Konkani writer and folklore researcher. She is an accomplished short story writer, dramatist, children's writer, folklorist, and translator. Dr. Naik was the first person to earn a doctorate degree from the Department of Konkani at Goa University. She has received the Sahitya Akademi award for her exceptional contributions to literature. Over her career spanning three decades, she has produced an average of one book per year.
