E. V. Ramakrishnan
E. V. Ramakrishnan is a bilingual writer, poet, and literary critic fluent in English and Malayalam, hailing from Kerala, India. He has been honoured with multiple accolades, including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Literary Criticism and the Odakkuzhal Award. In 2023, he received the Sahitya Akademi Award for his literary study titled "Malayala Novelinte Deshakalangal". Born on 23 March 1951 in Vilayancode near Payyannur in Kannur district, he was educated at Payyannur College, Government Brennen College, and Devagiri College before earning his PhD from Marathwada University in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. From 1973 to 1, he served as a lecturer in English at Jalna, Maharashtra, and subsequently joined the Department of English at South Gujarat University in Surat in 1985. Currently, he is an emeritus professor at the Central University of Gujarat. The book* Indian Short Stories: (1900-2000)*, which he edited and published with Sahitya Akademi, has been translated into Tamil under the title "Indiya Chirukathaigal".
