The book traces the life and legacy of Ustaad Bismillah Khan, the shehnai maestro and symbol of a plural India. He was born to Paigambar Baksh Khan and Mitthan Khan in Dumraon on 21st March 1916. He was honoured with several awards, including the Bharat Ratna, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan, for his contribution to Indian Classical music.
He devoted his life to the shehnai, taking it to an international platform.
