Upendra Nath Jha 'Vyas' was a versatile and prolific writer of Maithili literature. He was a Civil engineer, who superannuated in 1974 as Chief Engineer. He was also an accomplished translator, who translated works from Sanskrit, Bengali and Persian into Maithili.
