Subhi Jiwani
Subuhi Jiwani has worked as a journalist, editor, researcher and documentary filmmaker for the print, television and digital media in India. She has covered a diverse range of topics, including climate change, agriculture, migration, gender-based violence, sexualities, culture and the arts. Her writing has appeared in publications such as TimeOut Mumbai, Daily News and Analysis, ART India, Mayday and Scroll. Her multimedia journalism and documentaries have been featured online on Sahapedia, The Wire, People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI) and the websites of the grant-making organization India Foundation for the Arts and the TV show Satyamev Jayate. She has also worked on books for adults and children. Her report on the impacts of climate change on a fishing community in suburban Mumbai was part of an award-winning series of articles published by PARI in 2019-20. She has adapted this report into a cli-fi thriller for teens and pre-teens, which is forthcoming in 2022.
