Dr. M. Bhoopathi (Pattu M. Bhoopathi) is a teacher of English by profession and has also pursued a career in creative writing. He has published short fiction and poetry in both Tamil and English in prominent magazines and journals. Dr. Bhoopathi is also a translator, proficient in translating from Tamil to English and vice versa. In 2009, his translation of the Tamil classic "Muthollayiram" (Pearls of Passion and Fury) into English, which was published by Dravidian University, Kuppam, A.P., won the Nalli-Thisai Ettum Literary Award. With about 20 books to his credit, Dr. Bhoopathi currently holds the position of Professor Emeritus in the Department of Research and Development at Bharath University.
