Meet Nilufer E. Bharucha, an accomplished scholar and literary expert who has held numerous prestigious academic positions across the globe. She currently serves as the Director of the Indian Diaspora Centre and Visiting Professor in Humanities at the University of Mumbai, where she previously served as Senior Professor and Head of the Department of English. She is also a Faculty Associate Emeritus at the South Asian Studies Institute of the University of the Fraser Valley in Canada and a Global Faculty member at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the United States. Specializing in postcolonial literature, Parsi writing, gender studies, diasporic literature, and cinema, Bharucha has authored two books on Rohinton Mistry and co-edited four books on Indian English Writing. She has also translated works from Gujarati and Urdu and published her own short stories in English. Bharucha's impressive career has garnered her numerous awards and recognitions, including a British Council Scholarship, a Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship, and two DAAD Visiting Professorships at German Universities. She has also served as a jury member for literature awards in India and abroad and held an ICCR Rotating Chair at Muenster University in Germany.
