Lt. Gen. Yashwant Mande
ieutenant General (Retd) Yashwant Mande, AVSM was born in Faizabad, UP on 18 November 1933. He completed schooling in Varanasi and Gorakhpur and joined National Defence Academy at the age of sixteen years. Soon after his commission he did B.A. and M.A. privately in English literature. Literature has been a passion with him from the school days. Through out his service of more than 37 years, he spent his leisure time in pursuit of literature along with social sciences and philosophy. He took to writing fiction after his retirement. The author has travelled widely in the country. His experience and knowledge of literature has made the stories endearing and appealing. He writes both in English and Hindi. His three books, The Terror in Kashmir & Other Stories (English), Shreshtha Sainik Kahaniyan (Hindi) and Anupam Kahaniyan (Hindi) have been published and greatly liked by the readers.
