Ahmad Mushtaq
Ahmad Mushtaq, a leading modern Urdu poet from Lahore, Pakistan, currently resides in Houston, USA. He writes delicate, nuanced Urdu ghazals that are imbued with the understated intensity of passion. A collection of all his Urdu ghazals written between 1952 and 2003 has been published as "Kulliyaat e Ahmad Mushtaq", which also includes an interesting preface by the renowned Urdu fiction writer Intezar Husain. Mohtaram Ahmed Mushtaq wrote ghazals actively from 1952 to 2003, but has not written since then. However, very recently (September, 2015), Ahmed Mushtaq published another collection of his ghazals written after 2003, entitled "Auraq e Khizani”. Ahmad Mushtaq wrote a book about Nasir Kazmi entitled "Hijr Kee Raat Kaa Sitara" (The Star of the Night of Separation).
