About Khalid Irfan
"Khalid Irfan is a well-known Urdu humorist, poet, and columnist. Born in Karachi in 1958 into a literary family, he developed an early association with poetry and literature. Satirical and humorous poetry remains a defining feature of his work, through which he explores everyday life, social attitudes, human weaknesses, and contemporary issues with wit and spontaneity. He has written in several poetic forms and has published ten books, including two collections of naat.
Khalid Irfan has participated in international mushairas in India, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. He has also had a long association with journalism, contributing columns to New York-based Urdu newspapers, including Urdu Times and Pakistan News. His columns often reflected the social and family life of the Pakistani community in America through his distinctive blend of satire and humor. He has received several honors in the United States in recognition of his literary contributions."
