Basir Sultan Kazmi
Basir Sultan Kazmi, born in Pakistan in 1953, studied and taught English at Government College Lahore and edited *Ravi* in 1974. He moved to the UK in 1990, earning an M.Ed and M.Phil from the University of Manchester. Kazmi worked as a news editor for the BBC’s Asian Programme and was a Literature Adviser to the North West Arts Board. He has taught at high schools, colleges, and universities in the UK. His collected works *Shajar Honay Tak* (2015) include four poetry collections, a long play, and three short plays. English translations of his work include *The Chess Board* (1997) and *Passing Through* (2014). Kazmi has written extensively about his father, poet Nasir Kazmi, and has won several awards, including an MBE in 2013 for Services to Literature. His poetry has been featured in various UK magazines, anthologies, and public installations.
