- Author Name:
Sunil Vashisht
- Book Type:

- Description: Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant Janta curfew and lockdown, our country and the whole world has suffered a lot in 2020 both on health front and on economic front. COVID-19 has jolted the whole world economically resulting in fall of GDP of all major countries in the world and also a large scale loss of human life. Our PM Narendra Modi being a visionary has come up with a call of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The English meaning of Atmanirbhar Bharat is self-reliant India or self-sufficient India. The basic idea behind this concept is making India self sustaining and self generating, an economy that can sustain itself on its own and which minimises its dependence on the outside world. While declaring the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and during the announcement of COVID-19 related economic package, PM Modiji stated that the 5 pillars of Atmanirbhar Bharat are economy, infrastructure, technology driven systems, vibrant demography and demand. Various slogans initiated under Atmanirbhar Bharat include Vocal for Local, Local for Global and Make for World. This book focusses on several important aspects related to Atmanirbhar Bharat like economy, banking, national security, self dependence, women empowerment etc. and contains views of various intellectuals and specialist on the above subjects vis-s-vis how to make India self-sufficient.

Not Much Is As It Seems
- Author Name:
Navniit Gandhi
- Book Type:

- Description: It has often happened with all of us. A friend turned out to be quite different from what he or she had seemed to be! Or, a relative from whom we never expected much, came before us in a different light altogether when the going was rough for us. Or, just when we thought that a much-coveted job would give us the ultimate joy, life took a different turn altogether... Haven’t we often been caught off-guard thus? Even situations, which we had firmly labelled as unfortunate or wonderful, ultimately belied all our emphatic declarations. Yes, all of us have a limited sense of comprehension. And we are very complex beings. The situations that life presents us with, are quite perplex too. We just cannot fathom a person or a situation in its truest form and in its entirety. Most of the time, we err gravely, in concluding about people and circumstances. It is important to take a pause, and look beyond what is obvious...In doing so, it may dawn on us that not much is as it seems to be!!!
A Daughter Is Special
- Author Name:
Mridula Sinha
- Book Type:

- Description: The author had decided to write just one letter to her daughter who had gone abroad but ended up writing many. These letters, originally in Hindi, were published in the Air India’s magazine ‘Swagat’. Numerous travellers on Air India flights read these letters and enjoyed them. They would take the magazines with them to share with their daughters because they felt the letters were priceless and needed to be shared with every parent and daughter for a close read. Publishing these letters in a book was a major social event because the emotions present in this are not limited to just one generation. Our (Indian) customs, rituals, traditions, art of living, and classical teachings are embedded in these letters. New generations can also learn, know, and accept them. With these intentions, this book is a unique communal treasure. While reading these you will certainly experience humanity, love, and feel a connection, but you will also learn how to cultivate a new generation. After the author’s sudden demise in November 2020, her daughter decided to translate the letters into English to fulfill her mother’s wish—that the wisdom and advice contained in the letters reach a wider audience.

- Description: "In jail, I read the complete literature of Swami Vivekananda. One thing which impressed and amazed me very much was that Swami Vivekananda left his home and all worldly affairs to attain salvation but after travelling the whole of India for four years and seeing the poverty of our country, gave up the idea of Moksha too. On the rock of Kanyakumari, he made a historical announcement—“O Lord! I do not want salvation till every human being of my country is not free from hunger: And let me be born again and again to serve my motherland.” Not only this, he called upon all the countrymen to forget all the Gods and Goddesses for some time as the poor countrymen are the greatest Gods and Goddesses and their service is the highest worship. He gave the Mantra of DRIDARA-NARAYANA. —Shanta Kumar"
