Proiti Roy graduated in fine arts from Kala Bhavan, Shantiniketan. She worked as a graphic designer, with recycled handicrafts, and as an art teacher in Kolkata for 12 years. She now lives in Chennai, illustrating books for children, magazines, and journals. Proiti loves animals and collects old children's books, postcards, and matchboxes. She lives with seven rescued dogs, and her daughter Shoi is studying fine arts.
