- Description: धरती बुनकर एक सलोनी सी 28 पेज की चित्रकथा है। इस चित्रकथा में हर दो पेजों पर एक पंक्ति है। यूँ यह कथा शब्दों पर कम आश्रित है। लद्दाख और लद्दाखी बुनकरों का परिवेश है। इस कविता में लद्दाखी लोककथा की झलक मिलेगी। हमारे रोज़मर्रा के जीवन में चीज़ों को देखते ही यह सवाल आ ही जाता है कि ये कैसे बनी होगी। मसलन, ये शरबत कैसे बनता है? शरबत बनाने की विधि जानकर शरबत बनाने में शायद एक घण्टा लगे या शायद मान लो दो दिन लगें। यह सब समय हमारी पकड़ में रहता है। लेकिन शरबत तो पानी और मान लो नीबू का बना है। तो कोई ये पूछ ले कि पानी कैसे बना, कब बना तो ? तब फिर इस सवाल का समय हमारी पकड़ से बाहर आ जाता है। हम कल्पना और काम चलाऊ अनुमान का सहारा लेते हैं। इनके बिना ऐसे सवालों की थाह लेना मुमकिन नहीं है। आज विज्ञान ने कई सवालों को सुलझाया है। लेकिन आज से कई सौ सालों पहले तो कल्पना और कल्पना से बनी कहानियाँ ही हमारी मदद करती थीं। तो इस कहानी यानी धरती बुनकर का समय भी तब से लेकर अब तक का समय है। आज तक का इसलिए कि आज यह किताब बनी है। इस पर इसके बनने की तारीख लिखी है। इस किताब की पहली लाइन है - धरती पर तब कुछ भी नहीं था। अगर हम अपने आसपास पूछताछ करें। अपने शिक्षकों से पूछें। पता लगाने की कोशिश करें कि यह बात कितनी पुरानी है। तब फिर उस समय में जाकर हम वापिस लौटेंगे। एक एक रेशा करके। जैसे यह किताब हमें लौटाती है। 24 पेजों में तब से आज तक। 24 कदमों में। अगर हम इस किताब के कुल समय को 24 भागों में बाँट लें तो सोचो, हमारा एक कदम कितने हज़ार साल का होगा। ये कहानियाँ हमें इस समय फ्रेम में ले जाती हैं और हममें यह हुनर भरती हैं कि हम सोचें कि एक पेड़ कटने से या एक पोखर सूखने से या पक्षी के खत्म होने का फर्क हमें कल ही नहीं दिखेगा। शायद इसमें सौ, दो सौ, पाँच सौ साल लग जाएँगे। हमें धरती पर रहने का सलीका आएगा। सोचना आएगा। यही कितनी सुन्दर कल्पना है कि धरती बुनकर है। जैसे, बुनाई में एक रेशा दूसरे से जुड़ा होता है। एक रेशा खींच दो तो पूरी बुनाई उधड़ सकती है। एक छोटे से कीड़े के खत्म होने की भरपाई शायद धरती पर कभी न हो। अँग्रेज़ी में इस किताब का नाम है - साँग ऑफ लाइफ। यानी जीवन का गीत। इसमें न तो गीत सिर्फ हमारा है और न ही जीवन सिर्फ हमारा है। जीवन इस धरती पर रहने वाले सबका है। और ऐसे ही गीत। जैसे, वह कोयल गाता है। इस किताब की लेखक और चित्रकार कविता सिंह काले हैं। ये जो सब बातें हैं वे कहानी और चित्र दोनों के बारे में हैं। age group 0-6 years and Age group 6-8 years
