सम्पूर्ण कृष्णचरित क्रमबद्ध वर्णन प्रस्तुत ग्रन्थ में किया गया है। इस प्रकार का प्रयास पहली बार प्रस्तुत है।

भाषान्तर में व्याख्या का सूक्ष्म प्रकार अनिवार्य होता है और वही अनुवाद का वर्तमान और अतीत के मध्य संवाद बनाकर बहुत कुछ को परम्परा में जीवित तथा प्रगतिशील रखता है। अतः ग्रन्थ में अनुवाद के लिए उपयुक्त भाषा, पुरातन ध्वनि बहुलता और समसामयिक सजीवता के संरक्षण की दृष्टि से तत्सम, तद्भव एवं देशी शब्दों के समन्वित प्रयोग किए गए हैं। साथ ही, गम्भीर और बहुमुखी अर्थों को स्पष्ट करने के लिए क्रियापदों के अनुवाद, दुरूह पदों के अर्थनिर्वचन में धातुपाठ, निरुक्त की पद्धति एवं आधुनिक तथा तुलनात्मक व्याकरण के अनुसरण से सहायता ली गई है।
वेद आर्षकाव्य के निर्देशन के साथ-साथ अध्यात्मगवेषियों के मार्गदर्शक भी हैं। अतः ऋचाओं में संश्लिष्ट आधियाज्ञिक, आधिभौतिक, आधिदैविक और आध्यात्मिक अर्थों को उद्घाटित करने का प्रयास किया गया है। व्याख्याकारों में जहाँ विवाद की स्थिति है, वहाँ प्राचीन एवं नवीन दोनों ही मतों का विवेचन प्रस्तुत किया गया है। इस प्रकार काव्यात्मक पक्ष की प्रस्तुति, निगूढ़ अर्थ के आयामों का विश्लेषण और विवादित स्थलों का तुलनात्मक विवेचन इस ग्रन्थ के अनुवाद एवं व्याख्या की अभीप्सित विशेषताएँ हैं।

As of now, the only book relevant to Magh Mela that is available in the market is a reproduction of the chapter on Magh Mahatmaya appearing in Padma Purana. But, that is purely mythological in content and does not deal with many aspects of the Magh Mela as it plays out in Allahabad. Everybody has heard of Kumbh Mela. But, how many of us have heard of Magh Mela? Magh Mela is an incredible annual phenomenon in Allahabad (Prayag) from time immemorial. It is a monthlong Hindu festival that is celebrated in the month of Magh at Sangam or the confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical river Saraswati. Magh Mela is marked by (snan) ritual bathing and taking up temporary residence near Sangam in the month Magh and leading an austere life devoted to prayers and rituals (kalpavas) according to their vows. The month of Magh begins with Paush Purnima and ends with Magh Purnima. But, the Magh Mela begins on Makkar Sankranti or Paush Purnima (whichever is earlier) and ends with Maha Shivaratri because of administrative reasons. Lord Vishnu is the presiding deity of Allahabad as well as the month of Magh which is considered to be the most auspicious month for Hindus. Allahabad is also known as Tirthraj Prayag. In other words, Allahabad is the king of pilgrimage sites for Hindus. Separate chapters are devoted to the most auspicious months of the Hindu calendar in the Puranas in the form of Vaishak Mahatmaya, Kartik Mahatmaya and Magh Mahatmaya explaining the significance of each month. The most important ritual for Vaishak is charity (daan). Similarly, the main ritual for Kartik is offerings in the form of earthen lamps (deep daan); and, the main ritual for Magh is ritual bathing (snan). Therefore, Magh Mela is essentially a bathing festival coupled with kalpavas. And, Tirthraj Prayag is the sacred land that has been designated for Magh Mela by Hindu scriptures. That is the secret of Magh Mela.

- Description: Wanderlust and the desire to know the land and society more had been fueling my wish to visit Kailas. There were many curiosities. All our major rivers have their source in the region. The largest reservoir of fresh water on earth is situated there. The celestial swans are found there. I recall that how in my childhood, my Grandmother used to describe Kailas as being akin to a dreamland. According to her, Shri Krishna has said in the Gita – Meruru shikhirinamaham – ‘Among mountains I am Kailas!’ It was Sage Mandhata who first set foot on this sacred soil. Adi Shankaracharya shed his mortal body here. Guru Nanak meditated here and Swaminarayana, the founder of the sect that bears his name, saw the vision of god here. The Ramayana and the Mahabharata mention Kailas. This is where Ravana had worshipped Lord Shiva. He wanted to take Kailas with him. Shiva guilefully dissuaded him from doing so. Arjuna performed penance here and received the Pashupata Astra from Shiva. Yudhishthir proceeded heavenwards via this route. One by one, all the family members fell by the roadside; only the faithful dog kept company. Bhasmasur, the Rakshas, a devotee of Shiva was reduced to cinders here. Today the dark shadow of civilisation has begun to fall even on Mansarovar. This lake is shrinking. The sacred water body, that once stretched across 410 square kilometres, is now shrunk to only 10 square kilometres. Consider this the rage of Nature. Had Kalidasa been alive, he would have been deeply saddened to see his beloved Himalaya in this state. Is it the same Himalaya that is described in Raghuvamsham and Kumar Sambhavam? Civilisation has reached a point where the divine dimensions of Himalaya are disturbed.

- Description: Hindutva is a geo-cultural concept that embodies respect, a sense of place, and the feeling of coexistence for everyone. This synchronicity-oriented cultural consciousness has made it quite liberal, tolerant, and flexible. धर्म के सामान्य अनुयायी, साधारण आस्थावान् लोग हों या धर्म को हिंसक राजनीति में बदलनेवाले चतुर सुजान, धर्म के अध्येता हों या कठोर आलोचक और घोर विरोधी—अपने सारे मतभेदों के बावजूद इनमें से अधिकांश एक बात पर सहमत हैं। वह यह कि धर्म और अध्यात्म एक ही सिक्के के दो पहलू हैं। या तो अध्यात्म फ़िज़ूल की बात है, या फिर धर्म ही अध्यात्म का एकमात्र आधार और माध्यम है। या तो अध्यात्म का आशय है—समाजनिरपेक्ष आत्मलीनता या अध्यात्म का अर्थ है प्रतिक्रियावादी रहस्यवाद। दोनों में से किसी भी तर्क-पद्धति को अपनाइए, निष्कर्ष पहले से तय है : यदि अध्यात्म के प्रश्नों में आपकी दिलचस्पी है तो आप धर्म को अपनाइए; यदि आप धर्म से असुविधा महसूस करते हैं तो अध्यात्म को भी साथ-साथ ख़ारिज कर दीजिए।
