- Description: अने फ़्रांक की लिखी 'एक किशोरी की डायरी' विश्व की श्रेष्ठ कृतियों में गिनी जाती है। जर्मनी में जन्मी अने ने यह ‘डायरी’ 1942 से 1944 के दौरान लिखी। इसमें युद्ध के बाद जर्मन क़ब्ज़े के दौरान डच लोगों की पीड़ा का आँखों-देखा विवरण है। एक 15 वर्षीय किशोरी ने समाज की उथल-पुथल और अपने मन की कशमकश को बहुत ही ईमानदारी से व्यक्त किया है। जन्मदिन के उपहार स्वरूप मिली एक डायरी को जिस समय उन्होंने अपना सच्चा मित्र बनाया था, उस समय ख़ुद उन्होंने भी कल्पना नहीं की होगी कि एक दिन यह डायरी विश्व की महानतम कृतियों में शुमार होगी। डायरी की प्रविष्टियों में जहाँ स्कूल की बातें हैं, तो सहेलियों की ईर्ष्या, मनपसन्द खिलौनों की चाह, छुट्टियों में बिताए समय के साथ देश में तेज़ी से बदलते हालात का भी वर्णन है। कैसे जर्मनी में रहनेवाले यहूदियों की ज़िन्दगी एक सनक-भर से जहन्नुम हो गई थी, लेकिन जीने की उत्कट इच्छा आख़िरी समय तक भी हार मानने को तैयार नहीं हुई। अने का बाल-मन कहीं न कहीं मानता है कि एक दिन सब सही हो जाएगा और वो वापस अपने परिवार के साथ एक सामान्य जीवन जी पाएगी। एक किशोरी की यह मार्मिक डायरी सिर्फ़ उसी की न रहकर सीधे पाठक के दिल में घर कर जाती है।

- Description: सहसा भामाशाह ने अपने भाई की ओर देखा और स्वयं अपने साथ आए भील युवा को बुलाकर, उसके पास सुरक्षित चर्मकोषों को खोलकर उसी चट्टानी धरती पर सोने और चाँदी की अनगिनत मुद्राएँ उडे़ल दीं। हाथ जोड़कर बोले, ‘‘घड़ीखम्मा! यह सारा धन आपका ही है। इसको लेकर आप मेवाड़ की रक्षा के लिए जो भी करना चाहें, करें।’’ वहाँ उपस्थित सरदारों की आँखें चमक उठीं। वे विस्मित से उस विशाल कोष की ओर देखते रह गए। महाराणा ने कहा, ‘‘भामाशाह, यह तुम्हारा धन है। मैं तुम्हारे धन को लेकर इस प्रकार कैसे लुटा सकता हूँ! इसे तुम अपने पास ही रखो।’’ भामाशाह ने करबद्ध विनती की, ‘‘अन्नदाता, हम तो आपका दिया हुआ ही खाते हैं और आपका दिया हुआ ही जीते हैं। यह मेवाड़ की धरती हमारी माँ है। इसके निमित्त आप तो अपना सारा राजसुख तक निछावर करके जूझते रहे हैं। ऐसे में यह धन यदि आप किसी भी प्रकार हमारी माँ की स्वतंत्रता के लिए खर्च करते हैं तो यह हमारे लिए गौरव की बात होगी। आप जो चाहें, जैसे भी चाहें, इसका उपयोग करें। हमें तो अपने अन्नदाता पर विश्वास है। अपनी धरती माँ की स्वाधीनता के लिए अपना सिर कटवाना हो तो हमें आप सदा तत्पर ही पाएँगे।’’ —इसी पुस्तक से अदम्य साहस, स्वतंत्रता के प्रति गहन अनुराग व निष्ठा, त्याग-बलिदान तथा स्वाभिमान के प्रतीक थे महाराणा प्रताप। घोर संकट के समय भी उन्होंने साहस व दृढता का दामन कभी नहीं छोड़ा। अप्रतिम योद्धा तथा नीति-कुशल शासक के रूप में उन्होंने ऐसा गौरव अर्जित किया, जो मुगल शहंशाह सहित उनके समकालीन अनगिनत नरेशों के लिए सर्वथा दुर्लभ रहा।

- Description: ‘क्रान्तिवीर भगत सिंह : ‘अभ्युदय’ और ‘भविष्य’’ आज़ादी की लड़ाई, ख़ासकर इन्क़लाबी नौजवानों के संघर्ष की हक़ीक़त तलाशती कोशिश का नतीजा है। पुस्तक में शामिल पत्रिकाओं ‘अभ्युदय’ और ‘भविष्य’ की सामग्री हिन्दुस्तान की आज़ादी के संग्राम को ठीक से समझने के लिए बेहद ज़रूरी है। ‘अभ्युदय’ ने भगत सिंह के मुक़दमे और फाँसी के हालात पर भरपूर सामग्री छापी और 8 मई, 1931 को प्रकाशित उसका ‘भगत सिंह विशेषांक’ ब्रिटिश सरकार द्वारा ज़ब्त कर लिया गया। भगत सिंह के जीवन, व्यक्तित्व और परिवार को लेकर जो सामग्री ‘अभ्युदय’ व ‘भविष्य’ में छापी गई—विशेषतः भगत सिंह व उनके परिवार के चित्र—उसी से पूरे देश में भगत सिंह की विशेष छवि निर्मित हुई। ‘भविष्य’ साप्ताहिक इलाहाबाद से रामरख सिंह सहगल के सम्पादन में निकलता था। पहले पं. सुन्दरलाल के सम्पादन में ‘भविष्य’ निकलता था, जिसमें रामरख सिंह सहगल काम करते थे। 2 अक्टूबर, 1930 को गांधी जयन्ती पर रामरख सिंह सहगल ने, जो स्वयं युक्तप्रान्त कांग्रेस कार्यसमिति के सदस्य थे, ‘भविष्य’ साप्ताहिक का प्रकाशन शुरू किया। पहले अंक से ही भगत सिंह आदि पर सामग्री प्रकाशित कर, ‘भविष्य’ ने सनसनी फैला दी। ‘भविष्य’ में भगत सिंह की फाँसी के बाद के हालात का जीवन्त चित्रण हुआ है। ‘भविष्य’ और ‘अभ्युदय’ से कुछ चुनिन्दा चित्र इस किताब में शामिल किए गए हैं। सम्पादक प्रो. चमन लाल ने विलुप्तप्राय तथ्यों को इस पुस्तक में सँजोकर ऐतिहासिक कार्य किया है। वस्तुतः इस इन्क़लाबी वृत्तान्त को पढ़ना स्वतंत्रता की अदम्य जिजीविषा से साक्षात्कार करना है।
