यह पुस्तक ‘भगत सिंह को फांसी-1’ का ही दूसरा भाग है। इसमें लाहौर साज़िश केस के दौरान हुई 457 गवाहियों में से महत्त्वपूर्ण गवाहियों के तो पूर्ण विवरण दिए गए हैं, जबकि शेष गवाहियों के तथ्य-सार दिए गए हैं। शहीद सुखदेव ने इस दस्तावेज़ का बारीकी से अध्ययन किया था और उनके द्वारा अंकित की गई टिप्पणियों का उल्लेख सम्बन्धित गवाहियों के ब्योरे में किया गया है। यहाँ यह कहना भी प्रासंगिक है कि इस ऐतिहासिक दस्तावेज़ को पहली बार प्रकाशित किया जा रहा है, जिसके द्वारा पाठकों को अनेक विचित्र तथ्य जानने का अवसर प्राप्त होगा। ज़िक्र योग्य है कि ये गवाहियाँ विशेष ट्रिब्यूनल के समक्ष 5 मई, 1930 से 26 अगस्त, 1930 तक हुई थीं जबकि इससे पूर्व 10 जुलाई, 1929 से 3 मई, 1930 तक मुक़दमा विशेष मजिस्ट्रेट की अदालत में चला था।

The cross cultural, inter-religious relationship which is at the heart of the novel is unusual and profoundly interesting.
