यह पुस्तक दलित साहित्यान्दोलन की एक बड़ी कमी को पूरा करती हुई दलित-रचनात्मकता की कुछ मूलभूत आस्थाओं और प्रस्थान बिन्दुओं की खोज भी करती है, और साहित्य के स्थापित तथा वर्चस्वशाली गढ़ों को उन आस्थाओं के बल पर चुनौती भी देती है।
