जनसम्पर्क के क्षेत्र में रुचि रखनेवाले पाठकों के लिए एक उत्कृष्ट पुस्तक हिन्दी भाषा में उपलब्ध हो रही है। मैं पूर्ण विश्वास से कह सकता हूँ कि यह पुस्तक सुधी पाठकों को जनसम्पर्क का सम्पूर्ण परिचय देने के साथ-साथ जनसम्पर्क के कौशलों को सिखाने में सहायक सिद्ध होगी।

- Description: रचनाकार और व्यक्ति—दोनों ही रूपों में मनोहर श्याम जोशी की अपनी अलग पहचान है। उनकी दुनिया अनुभवों की उष्णता से भरपूर रही है। लेखन की विविधता से भी यह बात स्पष्ट है। यह पुस्तक उनके कई रूपों को हमारे सामने लाती है। इस पुस्तक में पत्र-पत्रिकाओं के लिए प्रमुख व्यक्तियों से की गई भेंटवार्ताएँ संकलित हैं। इंटरव्यू के लिए अप्रस्तुत आचार्य हजारीप्रसाद द्विवेदी से भेंटवार्त्ता पढ़ें या केवल सरकारी बातचीत के लिए प्रस्तुत प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी से, पाठकों को बराबर यह आभास मिलेगा कि जोशी पत्रकार ही नहीं, कथाकार भी हैं। ‘बातों-बातों में’ वह सम्बद्ध व्यक्ति से असली बात तो निकाल ही लाते हैं, साथ ही उसका समूचा व्यक्तित्व उजागर कर देते हैं। श्रेष्ठ भेंट-वार्ताकार का हर गुण-लक्षण जोशी के यहाँ है—ख़ुद बेचेहरा रहना और सामनेवाले को बेनकाब होने के लिए हर तरह से उकसाना-फुसलाना, बातचीत को सहज बनाए रखना, ऐसा-वैसा सवाल भी कर डालना मगर अगले को अवमानना का आभास न देना। टेपरिकॉर्डर अथवा शॉर्टहैंड नोटबुक जैसे किसी भी उपकरण का इस्तेमाल न करते हुए भी बातचीत को बाद में सही-सही लिख डालने की कला में भी जोशी जी सिद्धहस्त थे। जोशी जी को यह कौशल आजमाने का अवसर जब भी मिला उन्होंने कुछ अनूठा कर दिखाया। ‘सारिका’ के लिए जब जनसाधारण के इंटरव्यूज का स्तम्भ लिखने को कहा गया तो आम आदमी को खास गरिमा प्रदान करके नई बात पैदा की। दूरदर्शन के लिए अपने कार्यक्रम ‘एक दृष्टिकोण’ में मंत्री आदि विशिष्ट जनों से प्रश्नोत्तर की जिम्मेदारी मिली तो व्यंग्य और अश्रद्धा से ऐसा रंग पैदा किया कि खलबली मच गई। अत्यन्त मनोरंजक पुस्तक।
