पाणिनिकालीन भारतवर्ष आचार्य वासुदेवशरण अग्रवाल की अक्षय कीर्ति का स्वर्णकलश है। पाणिनि-संबंधी उनकी पहली कृति है--'पाणिनि ऐज सोर्स ऑफ इंडियन हिस्टरी '। डॉ. राधाकुमुद मुखर्जी के निर्देशन में लिखित यह उनका शोधप्रबंध है, जिसके लिए लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय ने उन्हें सन् 1941 में पी-एच.डी. उपाधि प्रदान की थी।
पाणिनि संबंधी उनके द्वारा संवर्द्धित रूप में पुनः प्रस्तुत दूसरा ग्रंथ-रत्न है--' इंडिया ऐज नोन टू पाणिनि '। इस पर सन् 1946 में लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय ने ही उन्हें डी.लिटू. की उपाधि से विभूषित किया। उनके परीक्षकों में डॉ. राधाकुमुद मुखर्जी के अतिरिक्त महामहोपाध्याय डॉ. आर. शाम शास्त्री और प्रो. विधुशेखर भट्टाचार्य भी थे। वासुदेवजी ने द्वादश वर्षपर्यत संस्कृत भाषा और 'पाणिनीय अष्टाध्यायी ' का सम्यक् अध्ययन किया था ।
इसलिए वे पाणिनि के सूत्रों की व्याख्या में इतनी गहरी पैठ बना सके और भारत के इतिहास का स्वर्णिम पृष्ठ हमारे लिए उद्घाटित कर सके । उन्होंने एक बार पुन: इन दोनों कृतियों की सामग्री का उपयोग करते हुए हिंदी में एक सर्वथा नई कृति 'पाणिनिकालीन भारतवर्ष ' की रचना की, जो न केवल दोनों कृतियों का समाहार है, बल्कि अधिक पूर्णतर है।

- Description: ‘गपोड़ी से गपशप’ विख्यात कथाकार काशीनाथ सिंह के साक्षात्कारों का संकलन है। विविध विधाओं में रचने के बाद भी बहुत कुछ ऐसा है जो अनकहा रह जाता है। कई बार जब लेखक प्रश्नों से घिरता है अथवा जब प्रश्न-प्रतिप्रश्न की प्रक्रिया प्रारम्भ होती है तब वह अनकहा व्यक्त होने लगता है। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक के सम्पादक पल्लव के अनुसार—कथाकार की बातें कैसी होती हैं? अलबत्ता इससे भी पहले यह पूछना चाहिए कि क्या है जो कहने से रह गया? काशीनाथ सिंह से की गई बातचीतों को सँजोते हुए इन सवालों का उभरना अस्वाभाविक तो नहीं है। कहना चाहिए कि ये बातचीतें बहुधा उनके पाठकों, प्रशंसकों या उनके साहित्य में दिलचस्पी रखनेवाले जिज्ञासुओं के कारण सम्भव हुई। इन बातचीतों का समय भी बहुत व्यापक है। लगभग तीस सालों का सफ़र पूरा करतीं ये मुलाक़ातें अपने स्वभाव में आत्मीय गपशप हैं। लेखक का संकोच और प्रश्नकर्ता की तमाम जिज्ञासाएँ मिलकर बातचीत को उत्तेजक नहीं बनातीं, न ही ये कथाकार के श्रीमुख से निकले आप्त-वचनों का सुसंकलन बन रही हैं। अपितु संशय, आत्मालोचना और जनतांत्रिकता इन संवादों को पठनीय बनाते हैं। लेखक इनमें औपचारिक होने से बचता है और जो कहा है सीधे-बेलाग। पाठक जानते हैं कि काशीनाथ सिंह विचारों को व्यक्त करते समय ‘भाषा को दरेरा’ देते रहते हैं। यही कारण है कि विभिन्न विषयों पर उनकी टिप्पणियाँ व्यापक विमर्शों का आधार बनती रही हैं। यह भी कि इन साक्षात्कारों से गुज़रने के बाद काशीनाथ सिंह के व्यक्तित्व-कृतित्व के प्रति पाठक का दृष्टिकोण संशोधित-परिष्कृत होता है।

The first person narration here has been used for the expansion of philosophy and thought that result in giving a contemporary canvas. | have visualised myself as Sati for exploring the in-depth feelings and emotions of a woman. The use of the montage technique has allowed me to pick up some stories from countless stories of shiv and sati and put them into an imaginative, an unputdownable literary piece.
