‘तुम्हारा नानू’ में नामवर सिंह के अपनी बेटी समीक्षा ठाकुर को लिखे पत्रों को संकलित किया गया है। ये पत्र 1986 से 2005 के बीच लिखे गए थे और इनका उद्देश्य यात्राओं में अपने देखे स्थलों और अन्य अनुभवों से अपनी बेटी को परिचित कराना था।

पत्रों की अपनी एक उष्मा होती है, जो अब मोबाइल और मेल के ज़माने में दुर्लभ है। इन पत्रों को पढ़ते हुए हम वह उष्मा भी महसूस करते हैं, और नामवर सिंह की दृष्टि की बारीकी से भी परिचित होते हैं।
पुस्तक में समीक्षा ठाकुर लिखित दो आलेख भी शामिल किए गए हैं। इनमें उन्होंने अपने पिता नामवर, हिन्दी के महान आलोचक नामवर, सबके चहेते नामवर, और वक्ता नामवर के साथ नामवर जी के जीवन के कई पहलुओं पर रौशनी डाली है। एक पठनीय और संग्रहणीय पुस्तक!
