हिन्दी के रंगमंच से जुड़ी शख़्सियतों को सूचीबद्ध करना, उनमें से इन महत्त्वपूर्ण लोगों का चयन करना और फिर जम्मू से कोलकाता तक के व्यापक क्षेत्र में, विभिन्न नगरों में सक्रिय रंगकर्मियों के बारे में सूचनाएँ एकत्र करना बहुत ही कठिन कार्य था।
