Kavirajamarga was formative in the literary growth of Kannada and is a guide book to the Kannada grammar that existed in that period. It laid the "royal path" for guiding many aspiring writers.

दिल की बेचैनी ने आज जल्दी जगा दिया। श्रीमती जी अपनी खूबसूरती लिए आराम से सो रहीं थी, मैं उठ कर बाहर आ गया। अख़बार वाला आज जल्दी अख़बार रख गया था। अख़बार उठाया तो वो दूर से टाटा करता हुआ नज़र आया। चेहरे पर ख़ुद-ब-ख़ुद एक मुस्कान ठहर गई।अख़बार पढ़ तैयार हुआ, तब तक पत्नी ने गरम चाय, अपने नरम होठों के साथ पीला दी। दफ्तर तक जाने में किए ऑटो-वाले ने, आज फिर कोई मज़ेदार किस्सा सुनाया, दिल खुश हो गया। ऑफ़िस का दिन भी सह-कर्मियों के साथ हँसी-मज़ाक में निकल गया। सालों से इनके साथ रिश्ता घर-सा हो गया है।वापसी में पत्नी जी के लिए एक खास गजरा लिया, जो फूलवाले ने आदत में डाल दिया है। बच्चों के लिए फल ले लिए। ज़िन्दगी कुछ ऐसे ही चलती जा रही है।बेमौसम बरसात हो गयी, छतरी थी नहीं, भीग गए। घर पहुँचे, तो सब ने घेर लिया, लगे ‘हाल’ पूछने। कपड़े बदल सोफे पर बैठा, तो चाय के साथ पकोड़े तैयार थे। बिना बोले श्रीमती जी ने सर दबाना शुरू कर दिया और बच्चों ने पाँव। सबको यों पास देख, दिल को सुकून मिला, लगा जैसे जिंदगी की धुप-छाँव, इन सभी रिश्तों की छतरी तले आराम से निकल जाएगी। रात, हमसफ़र के साथ, एक-दूसरे की बाहों में सिमट, चैन से सो गया।

All the successive governments in India, since Independence, have talked about community participation in governance, but the results have been disappointing. In this scenario, the 1985 batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer Bharat Lal Meena made it possible through his out of the box initiatives during his three-decade long Civil Service career. Right from his first posting as Assistant Commissioner in Lingasugur tehsil of Raichur District in Karnataka to his present posting as Additional Chief Secretary and In-charge of Higher Education, he has created a model of active community participation in governance with wonderful results. यह कहानी पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश के कुछ क्षेत्रों में चलनेवाली गौना प्रथा पर जबरदस्त प्रहार करती है। लडक़ा मिर्जापुर के अपने गाँव से बहुत दूर दिल्ली में नौकरी करता है। उसकी शादी हो जाती है लेकिन गौना प्रथा निभाने के लिए उसकी पत्नी की विदाई नहीं होती। मोबाइल पर दोनों की कभी-कभार बात हो जाती है, और उन बातों के बीच पत्नी उससे अक्सर लड़ती रहती है। लडक़ा एक कॉरपोरेट कंपनी में कार्यरत है और उसके साथ कई लडक़े-लड़कियाँ भी काम करते हैं। लड़ाई से बचने के लिए लडक़ा जब फोन नहीं उठाता तो बिना कुछ सोचे-समझे उसकी पत्नी शक करने लगती है कि उसके पति का किसी से चक्कर है। दोनों परिवारों की हालत देख-समझकर उस व्यक्ति की पत्नी सारी बात दोनों परिवारों को समझाती है और कहती है कि अब देर न करें और गौना प्रथा को भूलकर जल्दी से इन दोनों का मिलन करा दें। इस तरह दोनों का मिलन होता है और कहानी की हैप्पी एंडिंग होती है।
