गोपाल राय द्वारा ‘उपन्यास की पहचान’ शृंखला में व्यावहारिक आलोचना को आधार बनाकर फणीश्वरनाथ ‘रेणु’ की अप्रतिम रचना ‘मैला आँचल’ को परखने की प्राथमिक कोशिश की गई है।
